Liz Truss, the Prime Minister of GB kicked out only a few weeks after proposing huge tax cuts which sent the Brittish markets into a nose dive.

Now the Conservative party is looking for a new leader who will peruse a more wise and logical approach toward healing the economy ravaged by high inflation and plummeting markets.

She also gets a pension for being prime minister, 115,000 pounds a year for life (about $130k). Not bad for working 6 weeks and getting fired!

The Federal Reserve will have to keep boosting its benchmark interest rate to a point that raises unemployment and gets inflation down from unusually high levels.

It will make Biden look bad because too many morons think that the president has control over this stuff. He does not.

Raising interest rates will curb borrowing/spending, which will increase supply and decrease demand -- key drivers of inflation. High employment rates also help drive inflation: People make better salaries, and then spend more, thus increasing demand. Higher salaries means that prices go up. (See: (R) argument against raising the minimum wage.) This is just basic capitalist economics.

The president has some control, but usually its long term.

I love seeing Trumppers who whined that Obama was going to cause INFLATION by dumping money into the economy for 8 years, and then were silent while Trump dumped money into the economy for 4 years, now blame the inflation on Biden who stopped the money pumping.

They seem to think that the inflation problems are only U.S. problems and therefore all Biden's fault. I guess Fox et al doesn't bother to show them this.

I know it. Mr. Owl's MAGAT nephew once complained bitterly on social media that "Obama cut our food stamps" when his wife finally had to get a job as a truck stop waitress because apparently the state of Illinois discovered that neither of them were gainfully employed, nor were they disabled.
