Fauci was simply relating what the epidemiologists thought in the beginning. It turned out to be much worse. When that was determined, he said so. Epidemics are not simple in spite of the fact Repubs politicians are. Fauci does not seek the limelight. You rightys confuse him with Trump. Fauci sat by quietly while Trump said stupid things embarrassing the doctors . Fauci does not seek fame. He is an old man who is just doing his job.
