AMERICAN GUN VIOLENCE: WE'RE A 24/7 SHOOTING GALLERY FOREVER--LIVE WITH IT

There's nothing we can do. America was designed to be a shooting range, has always been one, and will always be one as long as the present republic exists.

Our mistake is looking at it the wrong way.
We shouldn't waste effort on trying to control guns.
Even if that's a good idea--it probably is--we know that we can't pull it off.

For the first time since WWII, we've got to start shooting the right people.
That's where our efforts need to go.
Keep shooting; we can't change that.
But make sure that the right people are shooting and the proper targets are shot.

If the trumpanzee isn't an extinct species by the end of the Biden presidency,
their population moving slightly from 74,000,000 to 0,
then the survival of the republic isn't a smart bet to make.

This needs a bump for any who missed it.
It's called "dealing with truth."

so you are promoting the targeting and extermination of people based solely on their political leanings?

Fire the 1st shot, faggot. Lemme know how that goes fer ya.

Lemme clue you in on something: Your perceived Democrat majority was manufactured out of thin air, there are no reinforcements coming because the numbers are fabricated from whole cloth.

Simply does not exist and never did.

2/3s are Suicides therefore your title is a Democratic lie. What is the Democratic plan to stop the nearly 50,000 suicides every year?

I understand that you are concerned about suicides, Oom.
We're all concerned about something.

I, for better or worse, don't give a fuck about suicide.
I don't believe in the absolute value of anything including life itself.
I value everything, including life, in qualitative terms.
If there's no quality to life, it's worthless.

People who commit suicide have made that evaluation, and it's nobody's business but theirs.

I like Spaghetti, nona makes me spaghetti and I eat spaghetti.

It’s the play clock. No one picked him up.
How long does it take for it to all go down?

Why did you get the 357 instead of the Glock?
I'm 6'3"
Then he reached to his ankle, pulled out the 9 and put a cap in the pitbull.

Thanks for agreeing people should have ready access to firearms, neef.

I think a lot of folks including those who have been proven to stole valor should be barred from weapon ownership.

That one third non suicide gun deaths total last year was nineteen thousand dead Americans, hardly a number to dismiss, and if you want to curb the number of suicides from guns the first step is to limit the access to guns, which not surprisingly, is same remedy for homicide numbers

people desperate enough to take their lives with a gun will simply find another way. If you're concerned about suicides, you'd do something about that, not go after guns. Of course, if guns are your greater concern, then you really don't give a damn about people taking their lives.

if 19,000 people are such a huge deal, why isn't 18,000 at the border a crisis?

Sure. 19,000. How many were in cities compared to rural areas where most legitimate gun owners live? Criminals shooting other criminals? Abusive spouses? How many murders don't Democrats give a shit about because they were done with baseball bats, knives and automobiles?

Maybe it's time for the gun-grabbing Lefties to start looking closer at these deaths instead of just seeking to ban guns from lawful ownership.

Violent crime is one of many areas of behavioral science where there tends to be a stark divide between how laypeople, including many journalists, discuss the subject and how experts do. Mainstream observers often posit simple, unicausal explanations for rises or dips in the crime rate. Experts tend to view things as much more complicated. The social mechanisms driving changes in the violent-crime rate are complex and intertwined and not fully understood — and it isn’t always clear how shocks to one element of the system affect others or the whole. At the moment, the FBI has released violent-crime data for just the first nine months of 2020. So researchers are only beginning to unravel exactly what happened and consider ways to stem the tide.

Much of this violence has most significantly impacted poor Black and brown communities, exacerbating disparities already apparent in historical patterns. (Within inner-city minority communities that deal with high levels of gun violence, it’s not uncommon for there to be multiple shooting victims at one particular incident.) According to Everytown for Gun Safety, a non-profit organization that advocates for stricter gun laws, Black Americans make up 68% of homicide victims in larger cities, many of them victims of gun violence.

“Poor people of color are suffering disproportionately from COVID, suffering from excessive and deadly force from police and suffering from excessively high rates of violence. Those are all concentrated on the very same population,” Thomas Abt, the Director of the National Commission on COVID-19 and Criminal Justice (NCCCJ) tells TIME.

According to a report from the NCCCJ, homicides increased by 36% across 28 major U.S. cities—including Los Angeles, Atlanta, Detroit and Philadelphia—between June and October 2020, when compared to the same time period last year. Per the GVA, 2020’s total gun homicides had, by the end of October, already exceeded that of the past four years. Many commentators have pointed to an uptick in violence apparent since May, following widespread protesting and unrest following the killing of George Floyd by a Minneapolis police officer, but experts make it clear the upward trend was apparent from the beginning of the year.
