Personally I don't give a fuck if they expire. My house is paid for. I have ZERO debt. And I have my own cash only business that I can shield from the gobblement. You see they don tax wealth yet. Just income. I report just enough so as not to raise any red flags.

I am consistent in my belief in lower taxes too. I just don't cheat on my taxes. And just as an FYI, you don't get to pick and choose what you pay taxes for or don't pay for. That is not how it works.
Want lower taxes? Vote for someone who will actually lower your taxes. But of course, that wuld mean backing down from the social conservative nonsense the GOP has become.
