Representative democracy is a form of democracy. It's what we are.

We're also a Constitutional Republic. Both things are true.

Enough of "we're not a democracy." Democratic principles are the foundation of our system, and we're one of the world's shining examples of democracy. It's so telling that we've started hearing "we're not a democracy" from just one side of the aisle in recent years.

It's because democracy doesn't work for their more extreme agenda these days.

But, as the OP states - we're also a representative democracy. Doesn't mean we're NOT a Constitutional Republic also - but we're also a form of democracy.

We are also a Democratic Republic! It is a matter of Semantics as all of these are true.

It is a matter of definition. Any nation state not a monarchy is a republic. Any republic governed by elected representatives of the population is a democracy.
