US says offensive phase of Iran war over as ship hit in strait​



“Operation Epic Fury is concluded,” Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters at the White House Tuesday, 66 days after the US and Israel began bombing Iran.

This signals the pressure President Donald Trump is under to end an increasingly unpopular conflict.

Iran’s president dismissed American demands to resume talks as “impossible.”

“The problem is that while the US pursues a policy of maximum pressure against our country, it also expects the Islamic Republic of Iran to come to the negotiating table and ultimately submit to its unilateral demands — an equation that is impossible,” President Masoud Pezeshkian said.

Tehran insists Washington must lift the naval blockade on the Persian Gulf. The US says their blockade is necessary to forcing Iran into concessions.

If the Americans are talking they are lying.....there is no evidence that we are done....all of the evidence goes the other way.
 
Trump launched a sneak attack while we were in negotiations with Iran. Iran was sure they were close to a deal like the one Obama made. They can negotiate with the US all they want. But they know how much they can trust Trump. He changes "tariff deals on his whims. Trump's word is worth nothing.

The president announced the about-face in a Truth Social post, writing that the project is on hold "for a short period of time" because the U.S. and Iran have made "Great Progress…toward a Complete and Final Agreement." He said he made the decision at the request of Pakistan, which has helped mediate negotiations between the United States and Iran.

Got news for you. The vast majority of Americans don't give a shit about this war one way or the other. If gas and grocery prices stay low, they wouldn't care at all.

Iran can do no more than the pinprick strike with one of their R/C drones now. It's akin to Japan or Germany late in WW 2 launching kamikazes and V-1 / 2 strikes to lash out at their tormentors who they have no chance of defeating.

If it were up to me at this point, the US military would be bombing targets like the 2 steel mills outside of Ishahan, every electrical distribution substation I could find, along with other basic industries and transportation infrastructure that could support military activity. Leave the country in the dark and without the means to move around or make anything.

For every drone strike Iran launches I'd hit the country with 10 airstrikes against such targets. Make it the "You fire one, we fire 10" campaign.

Let's see after two months who's still got any toys to play with.

The remarks come as the US military presence continues to threaten regional stability and security and international energy routes.

Iran has repeatedly warned US warships against approaching the strategic waterway, with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps maintaining firm control.

No foreign commercial transits have been reported in recent hours as Tehran firmly asserts its sovereign rights.

US President Donald Trump’s command ordering the American Navy to attempt to break Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz and force enemy ships through our waters has already run afoul of reality.

The IRG and Iran got curb stomped by the USN yesterday and today in a pathetic display of how ineffective Iranian for shit weapons are when the target can shoot back. The USN destroyers sailed through the Strait and Iran was helpless to stop them. I particularly like how escorting Apachie helicopters blew those puny IRG speed boats out of the water.
