Canadian lumber has tighter rings due to the weather and is harder and better quality than mainland American wood. The Canadian tourism is very important for much of America, especially so for Florida and the northern states in summer. They spend more per person than we do. They have a population of about 10 percent of ours. Even a righty can understand that they cannot buy as much as we can, so a balanced trade demand is stupid. Hospitality will suffer from Canadians reacting negatively toward Trump's stupid and insulting remarks and demands.

Charging high tariffs of U.S. exports to Canada is inhospitable. Charging the same kind of tariffs back is just tit for tat that I happen to agree with.
A Canadian health care system that fails to timely treat it's patients and advocates kill patients that are too expensive to treat it inhospitable.
The dictatorship that Canadians live under is inhospitable.

if you take Oil and Gas out of the trade equation, Canadian but more from America then American's buy from Canada.

The reason the US buys Canadian oil and gas was historically they needed it. Technically they do not 'need it' now, but because Canada provides it to the US at below market rates, many of the US producers then sell their oil and gas at market rates outside the US and the Canadian product stays in the US, basically subsidizing the US market.

And IF the Canadians shut off the electric to several million Americans I am sure those Americans will disagree that we don't need Canada.
I am sure the Canadians would get their attention REAL FAST by just shutting it down for a day or two.
And until we build more power plants in the upper mid west and in the far north east stated we WILL need them.

Gods that is inane. They provide less than 1% of the power to some folks in the US, shutting off their feed will not effect anyone, it is equivalent to one station going down and that happens constantly... the loads will level, they will not even know it happened.
