Amazing - TARP might actually turn a profit

As soon as you idiots allow the government to profit off of taxpayer loans, the republic is dead. Government is not here to 'turn a profit'.

So you would prefer the government get all of its money from tax and have to tax the people more, rather than turn to turn a profit and have to tax the people less in the future because of the money it made? BLARG THE REPUBLIC IS DEAD BLARG BLARG BLARG

that is the only constitutional authority and power for the government to obtain its funding. That is how 'we the people' control our government

I understand that you don't care much for the constitution though.

No. You just made that shit up. If the government turns a profit it does not have to burn the money. Ideally the government should try to make as much money as possible so that it can finance as much as possible using non-tax means.

TARP was basically a Bush deal, and I have always given him credit for that.

Don't project your extreme Beck-loving hackiness onto me, please.

this kind of stuff by you is exactly why you are dishonest hack onceler

if i give bush credit, its "yurt loves bush"....if onceler gives bush credit, its not onceler loves bush....your lies are so obvious i almost feel bad for yhou

try and be honest for once onceler....just once

Why do you actively seek to embarass yourself? It's weird.

I say you love Bush not just for "giving Bush credit," but for doing your police thing and going on pretty much every thread about TARP either demanding that people give Bush credit, or making trite & predictable Bush-loving troll remarks like your first post on this thread.

And you're trying to make that apples to apples with what I say? Really?

your opinion is worthless because you've never read the constitution. so kindly fuck off. thanks.

why do you actively lie? you are so dishonest you can't even see your post proved my point...taking out your lies, you are in fact stating that i love bush because i want to give him credit....

yet when you do, its not because you love him....

you're really pathetic and i understand how much this board means to you and how its so hard for yoiu to admit you're wrong and how much it makes you feel good to anonymously lie on the board...

what a sad little man

LOL

Whatever, Yurtle. You're always trolling me, just trying to provoke a reaction. How can I help it when the facts make you look bad as a result.

Like yesterday, when all I said was that Sept. was traditionally a bad one for the market, and your first response was to call me a fucking moron because Oct. is worse. You're just looking to poke the hive...

Well, the article states that they're working out a program to repay the taxpayer. Beyond that, it's written into the legislation that they have to recoup the funds for the taxpayer one way or the other, so that the program is ultimately debt-neutral (albeit within a 5-year timeframe).

Good enough?
Unless there paying that to each of us taxpayers as a dividend I don't think SF is going to be impressed by that.
