never stated that, the fact that you get that seems crazy at best and very silly at worst
Beware of this trap. In the Liberal language, a 'capitalist' is someone that is filthy rich and evil.
In English, capitalism is a game anyone can play. Don't even need a government. No matter how oppressive a regime is, capitalism is still there.
Capitalism is simply everyday people providing a product or service to others, at a price others are willing to pay for. It is the only economic system that creates wealth.
When pioneers came out West to nothing but scrub and quite possibly hostile indians, it was capitalism that occurred when they settled and began farming crops, raising cattle, pigs, chickens, horses, and all manner of other domestic critters, building their towns, providing foundry services, bars, accounting services, local banks, medical services, and eventually built the shining cities of the West. All from nothing but raw materials and a LOT of sweat equity. There was no government when they started. They formed their own.
Whole industries were created that didn't exist before. The automotive industry. All from nothing but raw materials and work. The computer industry all from raw materials and work. The Cloud. All from raw materials and work. The cellphones, all from raw materials and work.
All capitalism.
It is capitalism that drives innovation, a better way to do things, including cleaning up any problems in the environment. No government needed.
It is capitalism that created the EGR system in cars...not government. It is engineering. That bit of engineering reduced the smog problem considerably. It's cheap too. Just a tube from the exhaust port to the induction system with a control valve. This 'afterburner' considerably reduces the NOx gasses, one of the critical requirements to produce smog.
My company makes instrumentation for industrial controls, aerospace applications, some marine use, and medical applications. Many of these instruments are used to allow better treatment of sewage, for example. They have allowed such good treatment with existing equipment that several of these plants are putting out potable water as effluent now.
These whiny fucks constantly complain about the 'environmental damage' caused by rampant capitalism. I actually do something about it. I use capitalism to do it.
I've saved an average pulp mill almost a million dollars a year just in chemical costs alone, by making their process more efficient with my instruments.
This is capitalism. It's the butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker. It's ANYONE that produces a product or service voluntarily that people are willing to pay for voluntarily.
It is the only economic system that creates wealth.
