The 65 Project was “devised” by Democratic consultant and former Clinton administration official Melissa Moss. It is a project of Law Works, a group with no website or public financial disclosures. 1 LawWorks has previously received grants from public policy-oriented foundation Democracy Fund and is a fiscal project of the Franklin Education Forum, a nonprofit organization that provides training and support to, “advance and broaden the appeal of the progressive cause.” 2 3

It has long been known that Trump refuses to pay lawyers if he does not like the results. He has had trouble getting top flite lawyers for several decades. He never likes the results. This is not a new problem and it is one he created. Some lawyers demand upfront payment from him. Many others will not represent him. It is no left wing plot.

I wrote an op-ed offering to defend pro bono any lawyers that The 65 Project goes after. So The 65 Project immediately went after me, and contrived a charge based on a case in which I was a constitutional consultant, but designed to send a message to potential Trump lawyers: If you defend Trump or anyone associated with him, we will target you and find something to charge you with. The lawyers to whom I spoke are fully aware of this threat -- and they are taking it seriously.... It may even be worse today

The Truth is that they are going after the Lawyers who tried to overturn the elections on illegitimate grounds.
