Alabama Has The Worst Poverty In The Developed World

Ever wonder why they call it taxachusetts? Home of the Kennedy's, Elizabeth Warren, Barney Frank and all those other liberal heroes of yours? No need to be embarrassed here Althea. You bring it upon yourself. I simply showed higher tax wealthy states have the same if not more problems than poorer states. One would think with all that money, it would not be the case.
You cited cases of hookworm being common for residents of Mass? You cited cases of raw sewage running through exposed pipes into the streets? I saw an article that speaks to the problems caused by storm runoff flooding sewage treatment plants.

Actually I linked where raw sewage is being dumped into the Hudson in NY. All the "money" that state has and they cannot even take care of their shit. Literally. You can try and argue here Althea. It will not work. Facts are facts. Supposedly better off states are just as fucked as those less better off. NY, MA, CT etc prove that.

You posted two cases where flooding overwhelms sewage treatment plants, and the overflow makes it into rivers. In both cases, millions of dollars need to be spent in order to keep up with new climate issues that render old systems unfit to handle the volume of rainwater.

Contrast that with the claims about Alabama, where it is considered normal for raw sewage to run into the streets, causing humans to suffer outbreaks of hookworm.

It is the same result. The difference being in Alabama it affects a smaller area and smaller amount of people for one. Obviously the problem I posted affects many, many more people and affects the environment more also. As far as "climate" change being the problem, that really has nothing to do with it. As far as the "millions" to fix it, what is the problem? That really just points out that wealthier states talk out their ass a lot. All talk, no action.

I'll address all 3 .. but let's start with healthcare. When was healthcare 'affordable' before Obamacare when in fact, healthcare was THE biggest cause for bankruptcy?

How Obamacare Helped Slash Personal Bankruptcy by 50%

As legislators and the executive branch renew their efforts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act this week, they might want to keep in mind a little-known financial consequence of the ACA: Since its adoption, far fewer Americans have taken the extreme step of filing for personal bankruptcy.

Filings have dropped about 50%, from 1,536,799 in 2010 to 770,846 in 2016 (see chart, below). Those years also represent the time frame when the ACA took effect. Although courts never ask people to declare why they’re filing, many bankruptcy and legal experts agree that medical bills had been a leading cause of personal bankruptcy before public healthcare coverage expanded under the ACA. Unlike other causes of debt, medical bills are often unexpected, involuntary, and large.

Affordable for who?

They don't really know, but they agree. Isn't that swell? No facts to back up their claim but it fits your narrative so why not run with it

The difference, is that in Blue states, infrastructure typically garners more attention than in Red states, where local governors/state representatives don't care about those who live in squalor.

I think you'd have to spend quite a bit of time on Google to find a situation where an outbreak of parasites is ignored but states with Democrats in charge. In Alabama, raw sewage runs into the streets every day. In the places you referenced, when flooding occurs, it creates a situation where sewage treatment plants overflow.

Althea has me on IA which is fine but his comment still deserves a response.

And it's been posted on here previously about the rise in the homelessness on the West Coast (Blue States) and how bad the situation is. Is his argument we have so many homeless but we are so caring?

So if poor infrastructure and high homelessness are signs of caring in his eyes I'd hate to see not caring.
