You do a little rounding out and the states are virtually at the same murder rate.
Now, which state has the higher national profile? Wrong. It's Illinois. And which state makes most of the the headlines? Wrong again, it's Illinois, specifically that cesspool, Chicago.
Even you shouldn't be dumb enough to try and compare murder rates with me. Everyone knows that democrats are soft on crime, therefore, crime is just a natural occurrence on your side. It is not a natural occurrence on my side.

Because Chicago is notorious for its crime in general, it STILL has a high murder rate, and the city is in the news - OFTEN.
