Al Franken falls on the DNC sword

The guy is disgusting. I listened to every well rehearsed word and have to say that my low opinion of him is even lower now. What a sad little man.

Yep, Fish Lips did NOT resign.

If Moore wins, Fish Lips will refuse to resign.

Interestingly, Fish Lips announced this on the Senate floor. And you can not be sued for anything said on the Senate floor.

Seeing the liberal explanation of that, would be amusing. :D

Instead of it being an Al Franken moment, he followed the liberal playbook and diverted it.

And, he said this:

“Let me be clear: I may be resigning my seat, but I am not giving up my voice,” Franken said on the Senate floor. “I will continue to stand up for the things I believe in as a citizen and as an activist, but Minnesotans deserve a senator who can focus with all her energy on addressing the challenges they face every day.”

Who is "her"? Someone else ready to step in? Maybe Minnesota lieutenant governor Tina Smith? This would just be a temporary replacement until an election I would imagine.

“I of all people am aware that there is some irony in the fact that I am leaving while a man who has bragged on tape about his history of sexual assault sits in the Oval Office, and a man who has repeatedly preyed on young girls campaigns for the Senate with the full support of his party,” Mr. Franken said.

:palm:

And not one APOLOGY to his victims during the whole speech. :palm:

I have no idea what the "her' reference was, and I firmly believe Fish Lips isn't going anywhere.

Liberals like to posture when a conservative is accused of any sort of "immorality", yet liberals have no morals, as far as I can tell.

Take the case of Roy Moore.

The accusations against him appeared just in time to become a campaign issue in a critical Senate race. Why did liberals leap to attack Moore?

I believe there are several reasons:

  1. First, he's a Republican.
  2. Second, he's a Christian.
  3. Third, liberals think his election to the Senate will advance the Trump agenda.

Does anyone truly believe that liberals give a rat's ass about "morality"?

I know, right? He was allllll about him...no sincere unqualified apology yet. He's a mess.

Al Franken just fell on the DNC sword, in an attempt to salvage the liberal's losing streak; because this way the liberals can proclaim "Look at how moral we are".

You've been message boarding too long, if you have become this cynical. Some people do things because it is the right thing to do.

There were liberals on this board weeks ago who said Franken should resign if it turned out these charges have merit. Long before your alleged political calculus by DNC.

The fact is, the contrast is pretty stark. Democrats have put Weinstein, Franken, Wiener et al on blast.

While your fellow wingnuts continue to cover for Trump, and proclaim that a 30 something year old man hanging out at malls to hit on teenage girls is culturally and contextually acceptable.

Get back to me if you can ever prove those allegations about Moore.

In the meantime, tell the forum about your own dubious activities regarding women, why don't you?

Other then from his detractors, there has been no proof of any of the allegations; but then to paraphrase Nomad:
Whether or not he actually did it, is irrelevant...
