C'mon, man. Sam's and Costco aren't grocery stores, they're members-only warehouse clubs. And you only need the government issued ID when you sign up; after that you use the membership card they give you. When was the last time you had to pull out an ID at Kroger or Sunoco?

If you're having groceries delivered, then you have a pre approved method of payment online... At one point or another you had to prove your identity to set that up...

If this were someone that had been to the stores. It would be, "If you go to the grocery store and want beer, they get your ID." You'd add "to get beer" to each of the statements. You go to the gas station "to get beer"... Suddenly they are accurate. Of course he didn't say that. Because he hasn't been to the store in ages and ages... He has "people" who do the shopping.
