I don't think the second book was "Return of Dune"... I think it was Dune Messiah. Jeebus. If you are going to name yourself after one of the best sci-fi novels, at least get the sequel right.

Can I have intelligence but not taste?

I have read Herbert and many other authors as well. Dune is a contraction and a reference to my back yard. I live on Beach Street.

My favorite authors of that type were Zelazny, Heinlen and Vonnegut. Never a big fan of Clarke or Bradbury.

I do like Heinlien and am a fan of the harder sci-fi myself. Although Clarke had some very excellent stories.

That one is awesome, I liked them all really he's one of my faves, I liked "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress"... that was the first I read by him, and I had to read everything he wrote. And no I didn't miss out on Zelazny.
