While agreeing with the general sentiment about the modern republican party,
I don't quite trust anybody who reveres Ronnie Ray-Gun,
and refers to Teddy as just "Roosevelt" when FDR was the truly great Roosevelt.

Even Lincoln may have fucked us over by not just letting the Confederacy go. Those red states are certainly screwing this nation up now.

That post gave me pause for thought.

Reagan was certainly an imbecile who reigned over a golden age in the US, and your assessment about the Roosevelts, I think, is correct.

The most interesting part to me was the Lincoln part. I agree. Maybe Lincoln should have let the slave holding states go and let them choke themselves to death. It's unlikely, but I would still be in favor of carving off the Trump states from the country.

I mostly agree with you, BUT.....

I disagree about the Dems having fallen at LEAST as far as the right.

I think it's pretty clear that a smaller percentage of the Democrat voters are far left, proggie lunatic PC crybabies than the percentage of Republican voters who are rabid, bile-spewing, Trumper idiot conspiracy kooks and election deniers.

I'm not saying the D's won't someday catch up to the R's in that dept, but as yet, I think the R's are outdoing the D's by a pretty fair margin.

I think there are noticeably more D's left in the reasonable, sane moderate zone and I'm hoping it will stay that way for the foreseeable future.

Just like I'm hoping their experience with Trump might shock a lot of rabid R's back toward a more moderate conservatism.

Ideally I think that sane conservatives will either restore the Republican party or start a new one that isn't married to conspiracy theories, lies, racism, and dumbness. The Democrats are not a lot better, but they are at least rational and sane.

Hopefully it will the the far right crackpots who leave the GOP and start a new one.

The sane, moderate Republican voters shouldn't have to abandon their party to accommodate a bunch of losers and mental defectives.

Ideally, there would be four parties.

One each of moderate D's and R's and two new parties, one of extremist loonies on the left and one of extremist loonies on the right.

Highest popular vote wins.

The political spectrum is a lot wider than American delusions of progressivism and conservatism, but I agree that we should have a multi-party system that dilutes the criminal control of the Democratic and Republican parties.

This is not about budget balancing. This is about overthrowing the government and ending the American experiment. That is what Trump meant by winning.

The Dems are for honoring elections and doing the job of governing. The right is bathing in hate and destroying America. They are not smart enough to know the dirty work they are doing is for the benefit of the super-wealthy and corporations. Once they succeed in ending the American experiment, the oligarchs will turn toward you. They have no intention of sharing power. They have no need for you then.

Which party put forward the "For the Voter's Act?" Which party is for defunding police? Which party runs most of the most dangerous, badly managed, and fucked up cities in the US? Which party is for open borders--in deed if not in openly calling for them? Which party is pushing for limiting or ending property ownership in favor of most of the population becoming leasers and tenants?
