activist judge, or just doing his job?

more judges need to become 'activists' and start ruling drivers licenses unconstitutional, concealed handgun license permits are unconstitutional, and the federal government has no authority to regulate the possession or use of a weed by an individual in their own home.

a judge blocks wisconsin voter id law just a few weeks before april 3rd election

sounds good to me, i just hope that more judges in other states do the same

Doing his job protecting people's rights.

If a State wants to require " official ID" make it mandatory for the State to supply such ID. Communities have no problem finding people who don't pay taxes or fines so make it incumbent upon the State to ensure everyone has ID suitable for voting if that's what they want to demand.

we know you'd prefer microchipping everybody, but nobody REQUIRES an ID just to be human.

I never said I agreed with ID. I said if the State demanded it, it should be incumbent upon the State to ensure everyone has it. Considering this comes up every election cycle maybe a program can be put in place to register all the citizens and supply them with ID. For example, when an individual moves to a State they simply phone and a government employee comes to the home and registers them and gives them an ID card. Problem solved.

and maybe you can show us all where the state has the power to require we the people to have identification papers

Actually he's doing his job. The SCOTUS already ruled you can't require that unless you are going to issue IDs to people at no cost or it would count as a "poll tax"...

It isn't hard to follow the path into anger. If the voter ID law didn't take this into account then it was doomed to failure in the courts, that it happened in this Judge's court doesn't change that it was always doomed.
