Let's face it, that is what we have! Within a few days of taking office, Obama has indicated the policy of terrorist interrogation will be the conformity to the Army Field Manual. Period! No exceptions! The specific details in the Army Field Manual, call for treatment which is not only restrictive of 'torture' or physical measures, but goes much further, to include anything embarrassing or insulting, any threats directly or indirectly, and in some cases, even isolating the subject from the others in captivity. You can't separate them from their family or talk bad about their momma, or even hint at possible harm or repercussion for lack of cooperation. It's strictly by the book... the Army Field Manual!

Now, the Army Field Manual is a good thing to have, and I can see the argument and point for having regular soldiers and troops obeying to the letter, what is in the Army Field Manual. I don't think soldiers should ever be in charge of interrogating terrorists, and it's a good thing to have something like the Army Field Manual to keep them in line. But our CIA is a different story! They are charged with protecting American citizens lives, and the 'restrictions' on what they can and can't do, shouldn't be determined by a Field Manual designed for military troops in the field!

These are some serious people we are up against. They are simply NOT going to divulge critical intelligence information at the promise of a doughnut! If our CIA has it's hands tied by the Army Field Manual, unable to adequately interrogate these people, it is pointless to even waste our time trying. So, what will be the result of this new policy? Well, the Liberal ACLU types will all feel better about it, they can rest well knowing they helped "defend human rights" and "stop torture" in its tracks! Yes-- close Gitmo! Release these radical Islamic terrorists who have vowed to kill us, back out into the general population! This is the kind of liberal mindset we now have in charge of terrorist interrogation, and it spells certain trouble.

When we are attacked again, what will be the explanation? Oh, I am sure the liberal pinheads will find some way of twisting it into blame on Bush policies, that's all the hell they know how to do! But it will have been the result of liberal Obama policy regarding interrogation techniques, and the lack of information our CIA is able to obtain because they are handcuffed by the ACLU! alQaeda is NOT stupid! They read the papers, they now know our policies have changed, and you can download the Army Field Manual from the Internet, so they know precisely what techniques we can and can't use to divulge information from those we capture. Do you not think they will train their operatives to exploit this to their advantage? There is something provocative about not knowing what the hell is coming next, what is this interrogator going to do to me? That fear is the impetus which results in successful intelligence extrapolation from these people. Now, that's all off the table, thanks to Obama!

Pat yourselves on the back ACLU-type Liberals! You've won power and implemented your 'kinder and gentler' terrorist handling policies. Now we wait for the next deplorable terror attack on innocent American citizens.

I suppose I am, but it's a little scary to think, our terrorist interrogation now complies with approved ACLU tactics. When we capture a terrorist who we know has vital information about a terror attack, we can't do anything except offer him a cup of coffee.

I don't know, maybe it doesn't bother liberals much, they don't seem to want to respond to this thread. I wonder, is it because they just don't really care if we get attacked? Do they not believe we can get attacked again? Or maybe they hope we are attacked again, so they can blame it on Bush policies and cry for an end to the war on terror? I'm not sure what to make of it, but I do know one thing, if this is how we plan to fight terrorism under Obama, we can expect to be attacked again, it's not a question of 'if' it's a matter of 'when!'

If you want to call it "spreading fear" that's fine, I think it's better to spread a little of it now, rather than sit on my hands and wait to be attacked again. I just wonder how many Americans will have to die a needless death, before the leftist regime in this country wakes the fuck up? Based on experience so far, my best guess is, quite a few. The next terror attack will prompt outcries from liberals that we must abort the war on terror completely, and try to find some way to appease alQaeda and make amends for the harm we've caused them. I can see that happening, and it wouldn't surprise me a bit.

No, I think when a few million Americans die from an alQaeda nuke set off in a major American city, and we find out that we could have gotten the information which might have prevented it, from one of these detainees at Gitmo, it will be YOU who is getting the fuck out, on a goddamn rail!

Yet, here you are whining about not being able to torture some guy thousands of miles from our shores who may or may not belong to a band of criminals, who by the way, are smart enough to form in cells, thus the guy you're torturing probably doesn't know shit.

AND, if torture is such a powerful weapon, why haven't they found Bin Laden or Omar using it?

Of course if it was an American soldier being tortured, then you'd be screaming about the evil of people who use torture .. as if you really cared about the agony that soldier may be going through, when in fact, your belief in the use of torture makes it more likely that soldier will be tortured .. like my daughter if she was ever caught.

How cowardly and shameless that you would actually articulate your fear of ghosts and shadows in a public forum. Surrounded by 10,000 nuclear bombs yet you tremble like a scared rabbit.

Notice I ask if he was a girl, not a woman. I'd expect full grown women to have more balls than that .. like my daughter who is actually in harm's way, not sitting at home on her ass having wet dreams about Jack Bauer.
