To me, it seems obvious that they're coming from a more extreme point of view than their own.

I thought about it after reading Toure's article and I cannot come up with anything to explain what LL Cool J was thinking.

LL was clear in that he couldn't defend the song, but could explain some of his lyrics. One in particular was comparing a du-rag to the Confederate flag, which he adamantly said was not his intent.

"When you think about a kid like Trayvon Martin and you think about some of the things that happen in society based on clothing, when you put it in its proper context, it makes sense. I would never, ever, ever suggest to anyone that we should just forget slavery and act like that didn't happen. I understand the systemic racism that exists, I get that. I disagree; it won't have an effect on LL's career, and certainly nothing as dramatic as Toure suggests.

I don't get the hullabaloo on this one. To me, it's just pc running rampant again.

A. Toure' is a paid clown. I don't even trust that his name is Toure'.

B. LL is a 50 year-old rapper.

There ain't much long-term left in his career.
