Regardless of that Pilate offered his release, but the Jews were all angered, every side from radical to conservative chose to crucify him. Pilate washed his hands of it, and gave over to the people's will to restore peace in his district.
 
Pilate had barely gotten there, he wasn't in hot water... he was the guy sent to change things. It wasn't that Rome was "threatened" by an itinerant preacher, it was riots and disorder drop the taxes they collect by an order of magnitude, Rome was desperate for cash. In order to keep the peace he went with the crowd, and crucified somebody he believed to be innocent.

Pilate was recalled to Rome because of his brutality against the Samarians, not because of his troubles with the Jews.. At leat that is what I have read.

The trial and cruxifiction of Jesus would have never taken place during Passover. The crowds of Jews during Passover condemning Jesus would also never have occurred. It is why it is a fabrication. The Sanhedrian would have broken more laws than Jesus by doing so.
 
I know it is hard for Christians to accept, but religious myths come and go with the rise and fall of civilizations. Christianity will go the way of Osiris and and the gods of Mt. Olympus.

Using the word "idiot" with "Jew" doesn't mean you love jews.

The problem is that people seem to misunderstand the holiday to begin with. The five days in the middle were not "holy" like the first and last day. Trials, etc. would happen. Especially if the Sanhedrin believed that Jesus' presence would cause them to close the temple before day 7 (remember I listed how there were seven back then...) Take him quick, get him out of the way.

"Idiot" is a adjective , and an adjective modifies a noun. With that bit of knowledge, now tell me what your point is.

I have several black friends and business associates. Why?
