A Pox on both houses

Trumps is attempting to use black mail and extortion, which the US Congress should never respond to.

:lolup:Moron thinks Pelosi and Schumer aren't extorting a President.

If Obama had tried to use extortion by shutting down the government to get his stimulus bill passed in 2009, there would have been calls for his impeachment.

Oooops:

From October 1 to October 17, 2013, the United States federal government entered a shutdown and curtailed most routine operations because neither legislation appropriating funds for fiscal year 2014 nor a continuing resolution for the interim authorization of appropriations for fiscal year 2014 was enacted in time. Regular government operations resumed October 17 after an interim appropriations bill was signed into law.

During the shutdown, approximately 800,000 federal employees were indefinitely furloughed, and another 1.3 million were required to report to work without known payment dates. Only those government services deemed "excepted" under the Antideficiency Act were continued; and only those employees deemed "excepted" continued to report to work.[2] The previous U.S. federal government shutdown was in 1995–96.[3][4] The 16-day-long shutdown of October 2013 was the third-longest government shutdown in U.S. history, after the currently ongoing 2018–2019 shutdown and the 21-day 1995–96 shutdown.

A "funding-gap" was created when the two chambers of Congress failed to agree to an appropriations continuing resolution. The Republican-led House of Representatives, in part encouraged by conservative senators such as Ted Cruz[5] and conservative groups such as Heritage Action,[6][7][8] offered several continuing resolutions with language delaying or defunding the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (commonly known as "Obamacare"). The Democratic-led Senate passed several amended continuing resolutions for maintaining funding at then-current sequestration levels with no additional conditions. Political fights over this and other issues between the House on one side and President Barack Obama and the Senate on the other led to a budget impasse which threatened massive disruption.[9][10][11]

The 6 billion is a downpayment on a hugely more expensive wall. It does not end here. Trump"I will shut it down. I will take the mantle. I will not blame you." Then he did. This is Trump's shutdown. He offered 2 small programs that were taken away by himself. He essentially will go back to how it was for the wall. He gives nothing and wins.
He knew the Dems could not buy that deal. The real point was to try and shift the blame to the Dems. That is all it was meant to do.
There have been several bills in the past that Trump agreed to that would have stopped this from happening. Trumpy changed his mind at the last second. No matter how you scramble this, Trump is responsible. He pulled out of one deal due to Colter and Limburger. Who voted for them?

No, dumb fuck, it isn't expensive. Fully funding the wall at $29 billion amounts to a trivial .69% of the Federal Budget. Arguments like this are stupid, lame and lack the intelligence God gave a lemming.

Look there is room for compromise on both sides. From what I'm seeing Democrats are being as intransigent as Republicans.

WRONG; the only one compromising is Trump. What you are seeing here are Democrats acting like whiny little children. The amount they refuse to fund is a trivial .0165% of the Federal Budget. If you are going to fall on your sword over that amount of money, NOTHING is negotiable so just shut the whole damned thing down.

Democrats are once again lowering the bar so low that it can never reset.

Please stop showing up here drunk.

Oh god forbid that Trump should score a political point.

This has grown to epic silly proportions and it needs to stop on both side.

WRONG; it only needs to stop on the Democratic side. Trump is President no matter how much they protest, cry and stomp their little feet.

They turned them down but keep in mind that Trump is asking for a significant amount of money not to improve border security but to throw a populust SOP to morons.

Lie and lame; Trump is asking for an INSIGNIFICANT amount of money that will go a LONG way toward improving border security. Please prove how .0165% of the Federal Budget is SIGNIFICANT you brain dead tool.

I also want to know how building a wall does nothing for securing the border; contrary to almost EVERYONE who is charged with protecting it.

I'm all for a pox on both their houses when it really is both of them. But with this government shutdown, it's Trump's fault. Nobody else's.

Wrong and lame. The notion that Democrats being willing to throw people out on the street over .0165% of the Federal Budget suggests that THEY are the problem, NOT Trump.

The walls we have work. Just ask Jim Acosta, ... AssCrack.
ROFL.
what's even more crazy then Big Jim's Ray Ban "investigative reporting"- is that is ALL- the sum total
of reporting i've seen from the lame stream press.

You would think somebody in the media ( "media" -they are not journalists) would go down there
and do some Border Patrol interviews at the very minimum ?..But they are not journalists-none of them

NPR was interviewing a freshman congressman this morning.......she says "but Trump just issued this without inviting anyone to the White House to discuss it.......even the NPR guy said "wait a minute. I remember him inviting the Democrats to the White House to discuss it"........

5.7 bil doesnt seem like a lot in terms of the budget.

It isn't. It amounts to .0165% of the Federal Budget.....a rounding error. Funding the entire wall at $30 billion is about .7% which amounts to.....a rounding error.

This is what the morons in the Democratic Party of the Jackass are willing to fall on their collective swords over.

Dump repeatedly said that Mexico was going to pay for his beautiful wall, not the U.S. Congress.

SO WHAT!?? What makes you think they won't? Is that a reason to throw Government workers out on the street over? What amounts to a tiny rounding error in the Federal Budget? Clueless Moron.

National emergency wouldn't work. that $5.7B would have to come out of the 75% of government already funded. That would be very difficult without raiding the DoD

well, we could take it out of Nancy's budget for the House and then Planned Parenthood and then take some out of the DoD........

SO WHAT!?? What makes you think they won't?

Why don't you give me 30 grand for a new car, and we can figure out later how I will pay you back.

Is that a reason to throw Government workers out on the street over? What amounts to a tiny rounding error in the Federal Budget? Clueless Moron.

I am 100 percent certain your sudden concern for government workers is totally fake.

Your Fat Pig of a president said Mexico was paying for his Berlin Wall.

He made that claim repeatedly, and relentlessly.

He needs to be begging and pleading with the President of Mexico for the money. Not trying to extort the United States Congress.

I'm against giving the orange clown any money for his border wall, not $5.7 billion or even $1.7 billion! If Trump and the GOP win this, they will use this shutdown tactic shit again to get their way! Trump said this is his shutdown and he owns it?!! We should make sure this the last time anyone uses this shutdown tactic too! I hope the dems stand firm on this?!!
