CNN) -- The Republican Party is in need of a leader and boost in its self-esteem, a new poll suggests.

A new poll indicates there is no clear leader of the Republican Party.

Nearly half (47 percent) of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents surveyed in a USA Today/Gallup Poll failed to come up with a single name when asked who is the party's spokesperson.

Of the names that were mentioned, radio host Rush Limbaugh and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich received the most nods. Each was named by 10 percent of Republicans as the voice of their party.

Former Vice President Dick Cheney was close behind, at 9 percent.

Yet another non-story distraction from the Obama train wreck. NO... Republicans don't have one main person who is speaking for all of us, to which we all pledge our allegiance and march in lockstep to. We have a variety of people in the party, expressing opinions and articulating ideas, at this point. And there isn't really a need for us to have a single person "speaking for" the Republican party at this time.

This link is to the CNN story, but it's also the Page 1, above-the-fold story in USA Today. As if there is no other "news" in the world, or THIS is of some important significance! This story illustrates how out of touch the left wing media is today. Instead of tackling the tough questions and holding the Obama administration accountable for any of the pure insanity coming out of our government, they are focused on blustering up the "news" that Republicans don't have a current "leader" of the party!

Impressive verbosity that did not say much there Dix.

And yes Obama becoming president did not stop all of the insanity from coming out of our government. No one but a fool thought it would.

Now if we had president Paliln....

Clearly, you're sensitive about it.

No one unwittingly reveals the inner working of their psyche like Dixie.

I'm good with no clear leader for now. It's better than jumping on a popularity wagon and winding up with the wrong one.

LOL

The libs are looking for a new punching bag. No more President Bush to kick around, no one to burn in effigy, no one to scream & yell Nazi at, while marching down Main Street. Meanwhile Obama has put us deeper in debt, unemployment is at an all time high; military troop buildups continue to go to Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan. It must be driving the libtards crazy that they cannot protest against the one.

Unemployment isn't at an all time high.

Depends on how you look at it I think it is if you go by total persons unemployed. I think we are higher in total numbers now than during the great depression. Of course we have lots more people though.
Depends on how you want to spin the stats.

Exactly! That is why this "story" is somehow supposed to pass as page 1 above the fold news! They really do need a target for their rage, it is driving them insane not having someone in the national spotlight to bash and trash on a daily basis. They've even gone back to attacking Palin's daughter again, that should tell you how desperate they are.

Yeah about as desperate as attacking the first lady for the way she dresses or her teeth alignment or the shoes she buys.

Do you mean letterman? That is all of the liberals?

Wow, I knew they attacked Laura Bush for running over a pedestrian once, but I wasn't aware of these other things. And I never said David Letterman was ALL Liberals... there were also the ones in the audience who laughed at his tasteless and repulsive "joke" and all those who tuned into his lame excuse of a show, and the ones who haven't had enough decency to speak out against his comments or demand he apologize for being a bonehead and attacking someone's kid because he disagrees with their politics.
