DA: West Philadelphia abortion doctor killed 7 babies with scissors

A doctor who gave abortions to minorities, immigrants and poor women in a "house of horrors" clinic was charged with eight counts of murder in the deaths of a patient and seven babies who were born alive and then killed with scissors, prosecutors said Wednesday.

Dr. Kermit Gosnell, 69, made millions of dollars over 30 years, performing as many illegal, late-term abortions as he could
 
Hopefully this doctor and his staff will spend the rest of their lives in jail.

Illegal. That's the key word.

I assume you're talking about late term abortions.

Let me put out a hypothetical. Let's say a woman is having a problem pregnancy. The doctor suggests abortion but the woman, for whatever reason, chooses to remain pregnant and try to bring the fetus to term.

A few months pass and the woman realizes the dangers are getting too great. Should she be allowed to have a late term abortion or do we hold her to her original decision and force her to bring the fetus to term regardless of any consequences?

It was her choice to take the risk. I thought you were about respecting a woman's decision?

How about this hypothetical? A judge declares it legal that a mother can kill her baby out of her womb but still attached to the umbilical if it has a health defect. Would you then support these types of "abortions"?
 
If even half the accusations are true, that Doctor is a horrid monster in disguise as a human. Where's Bfgrn? He'll be able to tally up the Karma points for us, he's already consigned all people who disagree politically with him to rebirths on the hell plains. I'm glad we have such a valuable resource on the site, otherwise we wouldn't know our Karma score.

Why the hell should you, of all people, care about the legality of his abortions....they've been legal in the US for 37 years....and you are the most ardent supporter of abortion I've had the misfortune to know....

You, who thinks that abortion is better than growing up in some state of poverty....

Or because a child MIGHT be abused, abortion is the remedy......

You, that never had any qualms about abortions at any stage of development before...whether its in the first day or the last day .....

As for respecting a woman's decision would she be allowed to change her mind if the pregnancy became a worse problem? Let's see your answer, DY.

Let's get it correct, Bravo. I never said abortion is better than growing up in some state of poverty or because a child MIGHT be abused. I said an abortion is better if the child is unwanted AND WILL be abused and neglected.

It is not just people in poverty who abuse and neglect children.

As for the first day or the last day a woman has the sole right to her body, at all times. I would have no trouble with a law stipulating the removal of a viable fetus through suitable means and I'm against killing a baby after birth.

My answer was what you responded to: It was her choice to take the risk.

But technically, since the umbilical is still attached, some would say the baby has not yet been born. The procedure has not been completed.

So are you OK with killing the kid during the procedure?

As for the clothes remark try and follow along here. A child is brought into the world and neglected. Poorly fed. Unsupervised. Poorly clothed. Goes through childhood being teased and bullied while the parent is in another space. Neglected...poorly fed...unsupervised.....no clothes...bullied....Abortion is apples answer....


When the child gets older he/she joins up with some hoodlums/street kids. Drops out of school. The downward spiral continues. Maybe jail or a minimum wage job.

Then the typical Compassionate-Conservative says, "Take personal responsibility" meaning if the now-adult requires medical attention they better have some money.

From day one the child's life is hell and continues until they die. Sure, there are exceptions but the vast majority simply continue on the only road they've known. Poverty and illness. the exceptions will just have to die with the vast majority.....Abortion is apples answer....
