A modest proposal.

If the forum's engine allows this tweak, how about making it so anyone banned from participating in a thread doesn't see the thread at all? Occasionally, I have wasted my time drafting a response to a point, only to see that the person who posted it has hidden from contradiction by banning those members he fears.

I don't care if our more delicate members need to shelter themselves that way. Cowards will be cowards, after all. But it would be better if they weren't taking up space from the perspective of the rest of us. And it would be much better if there were no risk of missing the fact the thread's been constrained, since that can lead to time wasted on responses.

I first look at who's posting the Thread ...

That's all I need to know.

Cowards don't really want to debate. ;)

If you were smart enough to look at the thread bans before taking the time to draft a response, you wouldn't appear to be a dumbass by whining about something that you could already know before making a single stroke.

I'm glad you think members like Nomad, Nordberg, OwlWoman, christiefan, PoliTalker, Cypress, archives, and any others that ban me are cowards. You should share it with them what they are.

You've got my vote, too, Oneuli.

(Although I don't think this change is going to be made.)

I wrote out a fairly long reply to something last week...clicked the POST button...and got the message, "You are not allowed to post in this thread."

Mine, too.

If you weren't such a fucking dumbass, you could look at the thread bans for that thread and see. It isn't hard unless you're an idiot.

That is so awesome. It really made my day. I hope it was one of my threads. Tell me Frankie. Was it one of my threads? Huh? Huh? Huh? Was it?

They don't show on mobile. Lots of things are fucked on mobile, like I can't just edit a post without first switching to the desktop version because it automatically deletes.

On the old Amazon forums they hid the discussions of those you ignored. I miss that.

I don't remember what thread it was, IHA.

Do you ban me?

I don't think you do...but if you did, IT would make MY day.

I usually laugh at what you have to say...but if you banned me (and I noticed that you banned me) I would roar with laughter.

Just so we're clear, when you say mobile, are you referring to an iPhone?

They are cowards, snowflakes who have to shield themselves... this is clear!
