A kinder, gentler Hitler?

Do you honestly think that Trump will do better among blacks than Hispanics? I would be astounded if he pulled that off. Blacks are the Democrats strongest group. Hispanics are a lot easier for Republicans to win over.

Blacks will vote Democrat because Democrats are willing to make excuses for them.

I agree with you, however, here in South Florida I know a lot of Hispanics abandoning the Republican party due to Trump.

Like maybe 80% of Hispanics vote against Trump. But then you'd still have blacks voting more heavily against Trump than Hispanics.

Hardly. Ike's job as Allied CINC was predominantly political. In fact Marshall promoted him to the position because of his political skills that MacArthur was so critically lacking in.

I disagree. MacArthur was stunningly popular before the war in the Philippines, and even moreso in Japan afterwards.

Darth Whatever is a serious retard.

i think trump will make a play for the black vote. After all his main issues illegal immigration and nafta/tpp hurt blacks the most.

Wasn't he promoted primarily to keep Montgomery in check?
No. However the Congress did create the ranks of "General of The Army" and "Admiral of the Fleet", both five star ranks. So that senior U.S. officers would have the equivalent rank with the British ranks of Field Marshal and Admiral of the Fleet.

The term "General of the Army" was chosen over Field Marshal as, most agreed, calling George Marshall "Field Marshall Marshall" would have been undignified.

Blacks will vote Democrat like they always have because Democrats are willing to give them handouts instead of expecting them to earn their own way.
Isn't it amazing how you can tell a lie like that to hillbilly's like you and you instantly believe it? No wonder Trump won the nomination. :)

In late 1942, U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt selected Dwight Eisenhower, a soft-spoken, intelligent Kansan, as Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in Europe. He picked Eisenhower over more experienced generals partly because of Ike's ability to work with enormous egos. In Field Marshall Bernard Montgomery, Ike got one of the largest.

A bombastic commander Winston Churchill once called "insufferable," their relationship got off to a rocky start in their first meeting in 1942 when Monty reprimanded Ike for smoking.

The two would famously butt heads over the next three years. Monty's plan for Operation Market Garden, a daring thrust through Holland was widely seen as a failure. Eisenhower assigned Monty American divisions to help repel the Germans in the Battle of the Bulge, only to have Monty take credit for the victory.

Monty once said of Ike, "Nice chap. No soldier." After the war, Eisenhower proved he was a skilled politician by winning two terms in the White House.

and I think Santa Clause will dodge the Grinch this year and bring me my Ferrari and that big twin outboard bass boat I've always wanted. :)

Man ya'll need to get out and talk to people who are not white. This is fantasy land stuff. Wishful thinking, telling your self what you want to hear, rationalizing.

hmm devils advocate here.a kinder gentler hitler who stopped before poland (remember he already conquered quite a lot before then) may have been remembered as the best leader germany had.

sure you are, wink, wink

It's amazing that someone with a vagina between her legs can say something and the first thing you do is try to fight your way to the front of the line trying to get a piece to show your support.

Weren't there a lot of people voting for Trump in primaries who won't vote for him in November?

I, and others, wanted to make certain that he was the GOP candidate. :burn:

Yet you don't have the guts to say who you support. Didn't think a coward that hides behind his computer would. You've proven that for me.

Yea...Ike trained for that role by serving under MacArthur. It is true that Monty had a tremendous ego...but he wasn't the only one in the allied command by a long stretch. Which goes back to my original point. Ike was elevated due to his political skills. Monty may not have thought much of Ike as a soldier but his political skills were childish compared to Ike's. Ike played Monty like a toy on several occasions.

Maybe you need to talk to white people other than guilt ridden bleeding hearts that want to make themselves feel better by having voted for a black.

Yeah, remember the lie about "If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period. If you like your health care plan, you will be able to keep your health care plan. Period. No one will take that away. No matter what".

Apparently dumbasses like you believed that.
