A good day to shop!

Frankly, I can't imagine why Colonel Cut-n-paste/meme hasn't posted this yet, but I thought I'd get it out there for anyone who might be looking for a day to get out of the house...

Apparently, the TeaBaggers are still mad, and they are going to spend a day pouting about how mad they are. Well, one bagger's tantrum is another person's opportunity...

From HuffPo:

The Tea Party movement is gearing up its membership for a major nationwide action in several weeks, an initiative that they claim will demonstrate the seriousness of their cause. Their tactic: Doing nothing.

On Jan. 20, 2010, Tea Partiers hope to bring America to a screeching halt. According to the inaugural blog post by the National Strike's Operations Director Allen Hardage, succinctly titled "National Strike-We The People Strike Back against an out of control government":

"We The People will strike at the life blood of that parasitic congress by denying them the tax revenue for one day. We will not work. We will not shop, or buy anything that is taxed. We will not renew any licenses, tags, file any government filings and we will not remain silent. On This day we will fire a shot across the bow of Congress that we rule them not the other way around.

are you against this? last i recall you support others with liberal agendas who boycott

She or anyone who feels like her is free to stay home. That is absolutely her right. I am simply pointing out that if the Tea Party movement is as big as claimed, and they all stay home for the day, it will mean less traffic on the roads and in stores for those who don't agree with them.

seems like a bad idea to me...i don't understand boycotting over economic issues by harming others ecnomically

i seem to recall people rallying during 2008 to not drive to protest high gas prices....yeah...it failed

The stupidity of things like the above and like previous attempts to boycott buying gas for a day is truly amusing.

HINT: If you are going to buy commodity/good "x" it really doesn't make much difference if you and everyone else refuse to buy it on day "1" but end up buying it on day "2" instead. The only way a boycott works is if you refuse to buy the goods/services/commodities indefinitely until the change you are looking for occurs.

The only people you end up hurting are yourselves (because now the crowds will be bigger day "2") and the workers (because now instead of having the crowd spread out over two days, they instead get you all crammed in to the one... and you may cause some of them to be sent home on your boycott day and thus reduce their pay)

Man, the Zippy can't even post a topic on this board without injecting his hate of people..was a pathetic waste of human skin...

His post didn't bother me any. He's just a mean-spirited bully who loves to cause trouble. That's his MO.

what's funny, he accuses me of cut/paste and then he turn around and does the exact same thing...and from the Huffer post no less..
at least the tea party are only calling for boycotts, they aren't sending their congress critter rusty coat hanger to protest that Government should pay for abortions.

The use of the word "bully" denotes someone who's stronger that the little guys in the 'hood, and a coward in a fair fight. I don't see that in him; I see a little weenie boy who's a coward, period.
