I just made you president for two consecutive terms. You've spent years ranting against the New Deal, Great Society, etc. and the growth and expansion of government and public services. And how we never should have gone down those roads.

You have two terms, and a sympathetic congress: Which Federal Agencies and Programs do you Eliminate. Here's your chance. No mealy-mouthed responses please,, about keeping almost all of them and just making them more efficient; or simply consolidating them under fewer adminstrative umbrellas. That's just shifting chairs on the deck of Titanic. We're talking a real ideological paradigm shift here.

Eliminated means what it means. Taxpayers don't pay for it. Let the free market provide these services, if they can.
 
I guess we all agree then.

In spite of the rants against the expansion of government services, no one in fact really disagrees that we need these services provided by the government. Its not like the free market is going to pay you money to monitor volcanoes and earthquakes.
 
Well we know for sure private industry will do a better job than the consumer protection agency in protecting consumer from bad business practices ;)

Why keep feema ? If people are stupid enough to build in a flood plain or hurricane zone they can just take their licks.

and no state or federally back flood or hurricane ins. private industry will handle it just fine.

Word to the wise SF: States can't regulate interstate commerce, which is exactly what pharmaceuticals, and food safety inspections are.

Weather, geologic hazards, pollution, and disease? Sorry dude. They don't recognize state borders or political boundaries. They cross freely across one border to another. Can't be managed by individual states. They're regional, and indeed national problems.

ohh the toll road privitization company will take care of that SF.
the cost will just be added to your lift ticket cost.
As well as the private weather forcast and avalanche control.
And if you break a leg without a credit card ? sorry....

Btw tolls for roads at an elevation of over 2,000 ft will cost 4X as much for snow removal costs.

but it will be a good deal for me as I do not ski :D

Ummm...

1) I was being a tad sarcastic

2) Weather cannot be controlled, but it can certainly be planned for on a state by state basis. Geologic hazzards are also a state issue. Yes, pollution can travel across state boundries.... but it can be governed at the state level.

3) disease... like I said... population control.... darwin rules.

Oh my God what would the world be like if we didn't have a government run weather channel? Half these numb nuts can't even get the same day weather right let alone weekly or monthly forecasts.

they have satellites and offshore bouys, etc ?
Umm and the coast gaurd takes care of those offshore monitoring bouys.

The weather channel is profiting greatly off our tax dollars.
 
The EPA protects victims that had none before, I would simply cut a ton of it and limit them to Interstate Commerce and keep it to a more constitutional level.

Before the EPA often companies would build on the border and pollute into the next state, the states had no real way to stop them if the neighboring state had no urge to help them. People would be living nearby, usually the extremely poor, and would suffer severely. Thus, it is an Interstate Commerce issue and should, in such instances, be regulated at the Federal level.
 
Anf then the companies would file bankruptch and start over somewhere else with no one to clean up their mess.
A common thing in strip mining in eastern ky....

Love canal also comes to mind.

China is an epaless country and they are already talking of cancelling outdoor olympic activities because of smog.
