No. Learning. I mean y'all can think what ever you want but no matter what example you present of humans uniqueness there is almost always a comparable analogue in the wild kingdom. The only real exception being tool use.

It’s not just a matter of tools—and even if it was, the difference in degree of sophistication isn’t something evolution would have predicted. As a species, we could manage quite well with much less brain power.

Ok, if whales are so smart, communicate sophisticatedly, do art [art?? Lol] why did they allow themselves to be hunted nearly to extinction with hand held harpoons?

Whales do have some pretty impressive commication adaptions—in the sense they can do so over hundreds of miles. Yet, the word[?lol] apparently never got out that groups of men in long boats were terribly bad news. But countless times they would come up for air within distance of a handheld harpoon, instead of diving deep and swimming miles away.

That isn’t too bright, by human standards.

Our Grey, who will be 30 yrs old next year, has us trained to respond appropriately to his desires with voice commands in human English, so he considers us fairly intelligent and educable.

Why do they "allow" themselves to be hunted? Darth, you're losing your train of thought here. Why do we allow millions to be killed in wars & natural disasters?

I mean, you're really stretching now. I think you're probably near the end of every potential goalpost move, but who knows.

When a shark, bear or other predator attacks a human - why did we "allow" that to happen?

In those instances, are they "unique"?

I think it’s pretty debatable, actually.

How can it be that whales are super intelligent and possess real commication skills if they were apparently unable to communicate the obvious danger of manned row boats amongst themselves. Yet, time and again, they would make the fatal mistake of coming up for air in harpoon range. The only analogy would be walking right into the lions den. Or walking up to pat a polar bear on its head.

And it was only through the efforts of man some whale species didn’t go extinct. Makes absolutely no sense.

Maybe they aren’t so bright; or more likely, they’re intelligence is adapted strictly to their environment. I suspect it’s the latter.

Our intelligence isn’t constrained by any such limitations. We are unique.

Man has done exactly what you stated above. There was a story a couple of months ago about a drunk dude who saw a sign saying "absolutely no swimming - alligators in water," said out loud that he didn't care, jumped in & was attacked.

We go in the ocean all the time, even though there are sharks. Same w/ the jungle & mountains.
