That kind of half explains it. If I were in a vehicle with a manual transmission, and you were tailgating me in your Tesla, and I wanted you to end up in the ass of my car while we were both doing say 40 mph down a street, I'd shift into first gear, drop the clutch, and slam on the brakes. Regenerative braking won't save you, you're toast and your insurance is paying the bill...
Might very well total the EV too. A single damaged cell in an EV totals the car.
