A Case for Michelle Bachmann

Oh poor little you. How dare anyone attack you!!! As you sit here attacking Bachmann's intelligence based on your blind hatred for anything and anyone that doesn't think JUST LIKE YOU. Shut the fuck up you whiny mangina

My so called 'attack' on Bachmann was not hatred, it was intended to be humorous. But it is not baseless, she has said some REALLY air head things.

The very fact that you call Walker and Christie 'dictators' shows just how completely WARPED your views are. BOTH are ELECTED representatives. BOTH have worked to pass laws via their respective states LEGISLATURES. You are a complete hack. Deserving of little empathy.

My calling Walker and Christie dictators would have a great deal of support from people in those two states, but THAT is irrelevant and shows how much of a MORON (your favorite hate spewed label) you are. The point: you folks on the right 'SAY' you want less government, blah, blah, blah... THEN along comes a Walker or a Christie and there is NO restrains needed on government...the stronger, more punishing, oppressive and authoritarian the better...

Only from the morons who believe as you do. Not from ANYONE who understands how democracy works. You seem to think that 'less government' means 'no governing'. Try educating yourself a bit moron.

You use words like 'punishing/oppressive/authoritarian' without ANY signs that you actually comprehend what those words mean. Or shall we call Obama 'oppressive/authoritarian/punishing' as well because most of us don't like his policies?

Wake the fuck up...100,000 people don't show up on the steps of a state capital unless someone's rights are being taken away. But you couldn't give a shit because they weren't YOUR rights. You people on the right LOVE to see other peoples right taken away because you believe in punishment and you hate to see anyone have something you don't have.

The above shows what a union shill you are. They have not had ANY 'rights' taken away. NONE. Not ONE.

Secondly.... LEARN what DEMOCRACY is.

What IS authoritarian and DOES take away rights is the actions seen recently by the NLRB. But no.... you don't bitch about that because both recent moves are designed to benefit unions. Fuck the workers in Carolina.... they don't matter. Fuck the businesses that want to decide where to locate their plants. Fuck the businesses that want the opportunity to share THEIR opinions on the pro's and con's of unions. Fuck them all.... just DO AS WE SAY.... right Bfgrn?

"100,000 people don't show up on the steps of a state capital unless someone's rights are being taken away"

Bullshit. There have been plenty of demonstrations because someone was losing a privilege, not a right.

I hope you two don't live close to each other, you are creating enough straw to create a flash fire...LOL

You know, I just don't understand why I can't drive 100 mph through a school zone. It's not like those parents couldn't have more kids to replace the ones I mow down...

How ironic, you claiming straw man. Neither Dixie or I mentioned speed limits, since they are an obvious non-partisan issue.

LEARN what DEMOCRACY is...seriously, you are kidding aren't you? Because if you're not kidding, then you really are the MORON you love to call people.

HERE is what DEMOCRACY is...the term democracy comes from the Greek word dēmokratía..."rule of the people"

The "rule of the people" is fulfilled by democratic elections. Candidates present to the people their plans, ideas and policies if elected. THAT is what the people have the RIGHT to expect if they give that person the sanction of their vote. Scott Walker LIED to the people. He never once mentioned taking away people's collective bargaining rights, or that his REAL intent was to bust unions. We know this by his unwitting comments in a conversation with who he thought was David Koch, one of the major polluters on the planet.

You accuse me of being a union shill. But I am really just a 'people' shill. We, the People have the right to be told the truth and treated fairly by our elected officials. Scott Walker will be removed from office, either through recall when it can legally be done, or by election defeat...THEN the "rule of the people" will be restored.

Weren't you the one who was ranting and raving when I said Weiner should resign or be fired for lying to us?

Hmmmm, sounds like you are more interested in party lines than in how the politicians treat the public.

The US isn't a Democracy. Neither are any other the 50 states, and are constitutionally guaranteed republican forms of government. Look it up: Article IV Section 4. *shrug*

Why don't you say that in response to SuperShill? He is the one who keeps using that line in thread after thread.

WOW Dixie, if over the top were some form of normal, you'd still be outside the room. Light bulb authoritarians?
What you and DY are proving is that Jack and Jeanne Blocks study should win a Nobel Prize.

In 1969, Berkeley professors Jack and Jeanne Block embarked on a study of childhood personality, asking nursery school teachers to rate children's temperaments. They weren't even thinking about political orientation.

Twenty years later, they decided to compare the subjects' childhood personalities with their political preferences as adults. They found arresting patterns. As kids, liberals had developed close relationships with peers and were rated by their teachers as self-reliant, energetic, impulsive, and resilient. People who were conservative at age 23 had been described by their teachers as easily victimized, easily offended, indecisive, fearful, rigid, inhibited, and vulnerable at age 3. The reason for the difference, the Blocks hypothesized, was that insecure kids most needed the reassurance of tradition and authority, and they found it in conservative politics.

An interesting and insightful study. Explains a lot.

You're right, our founder's chosen FORM OF GOVERNMENT was a republic, based on democratic ideals, tenets, principles and beliefs...BUT, there is one form of PURE democracy our founders provided...ELECTIONS. Now go back and read my post...I accept your apology in advance.

So instead of telling us about these so-called "authoritarian" conservative initiatives, you choose to change the subject to some trumped up bogus and subjective study done by a bunch of Berkley pinheads? Okay... now can you tell us about these phantom initiatives? Yeah..didn't think you had any!

Telling us what kind of light bulbs we SHALL use and purchase, is pretty dang 'authoritarian' if you ask me... I don't know... do YOU think that isn't very 'authoritarian' or what? Yeah, I suppose to a little Fascist Nazi Socialist, a little thing like light bulbs isn't a big deal to you, eh?

....Still waiting to hear about these Conservative 'authoritarian' initiatives..... any day now???

Why do you have a problem with government finding out about research and telling the population about ways to save energy?

NO, you were the one ranting and raving that Weiner must resign because he broke a 'sacred trust'...even though what he did was a personal transgression that in NO way, shape or form negatively impacted anyone but himself and his family. Scott Walker's LIES and the policies he never told We, the People he would enact have a negative impact on thousands of people and families...WHERE IS YOUR OUTRAGE WB???

Your post was a lie about Walker. He was democratically elected to be a governor, and at that point he managed the union issue in a republican manner- by exercising his authority along with the legislative process.

The 'light bulb authoritarians'...:whoa:

Governments around the world have passed measures to phase out incandescent light bulbs for general lighting. The aim is to encourage the use and technological development of more energy-efficient lighting alternatives, such as compact fluorescent lamp (CFLs) and LED lamps. Brazil and Venezuela started to phase them out in 2005, and the European Union, Switzerland, and Australia started to phase them out in 2009. Likewise, other nations are planning scheduled phase-outs: Argentina, Russia, and Canada in 2012, and Malaysia in 2014.

United States

Individual state efforts

California will phase out the use of incandescent bulbs by 2018 as part of bill by California State Assembly member Jared Huffman (D-Santa Rosa) that was signed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on October 12, 2007. The bill aims to establish a minimum standard of twenty-five lumens per watt by 2013 and sixty lumens per watt by 2018.

Connecticut legislation was proposed by state Representative Mary M. Mushinsky (D-Wallingford).

New Jersey Assemblyman Larry Chatzidakis introduced a bill on February 8, 2007 that calls for the state to eliminate incandescent bulbs in government buildings over the next three years. Chatzidakis said, "The light bulb was invented a long time ago and a lot of things have changed since then. I obviously respect the memory of Thomas Edison, but what we're looking at here is using less energy."

Federal legislation

In December 2007, many of these state efforts became moot when the federal government enacted the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, which requires all general-purpose light bulbs that produce 310–2600 lumens of light[30] be 30% more energy efficient (similar to current halogen lamps) than current incandescent bulbs by 2012 to 2014. The efficiency standards will start with 100-watt bulbs in January 2012 and end with 40-watt bulbs in January 2014.

Light bulbs outside of this range are exempt from the restrictions. Also exempt are several classes of specialty lights, including appliance lamps, rough service bulbs, 3-way, colored lamps, and plant lights.

By 2020, a second tier of restrictions would become effective, which requires all general-purpose bulbs to produce at least 45 lumens per watt (similar to current CFLs). Exemptions from the Act include reflector flood, 3-way, candelabra, colored, and other specialty bulbs.

Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007
Signed into law by President George W. Bush on December 19, 2007

THANK YOU!!! I could have spent years trying to prove you are an authoritarian follower, but you just DID.

If Walker the authoritarian did was what he planned on doing if elected, do the people have a right to know that before they vote???

They elected a conservative who they knew would cut through the union bullshit, and that's what he did. If they don't like it, then they can vote him out next election. *shrug*
