A Case for Michelle Bachmann

The bill contains the word "shall" 3425 times. ... to tell you how the government "shall" stay out of your health-care decisions, right?

Strawman and irrelevant as usual Dixie...when the bill says MUST, then come back to me.

...I don't want more government, I want a more effective government. A government whose priorities are We, the People, not We, the corporations, lobbyists, polluters, special interests and the elite...

Everyone wants a more effective government, but Democrats and liberals want a larger, more effective government, while conservatives want a smaller, more effective government. So again, which route gives the government more authority and which gives it less?

An even better question is this... We have big governments and small, we have governments who regulate the people a lot and governments who regulate the people very little... Name a BIG government who has totally run the show, which provided a positive benefit to the people? Look through all of world history, and find just one example! The truth and the fact of the matter is, there isn't such a thing. Big Government is the ENEMY of Free People!

I understand your simple minded beliefs, but it is pure horseshit. You believe removing government would create a void...it won't. Less government would mean more of something else. You naively believe it is freedom, it is NOT. If we follow the Republican plan, it would mean more corporations, lobbyists, polluters and special interests running what was run by We, the People.

Just like you authoritarian hero in Wisconsin...he wants to sell Wisconsin state-owned power plants for pennies on the dollar in closed unsolicitated bids to one of the biggest polluters on the planet, the SAME polluter who funded Walker's campaign...Koch Brothers.

The American people only have a voice and representation in government, not private corporations.

Liberals want to tell us a whole bunch of other things we "shall" do... like how much saturated fat we "shall" intake daily.
Which type of energy we shall use, which schools we shall send our kids to and what view of history shall they be taught. How much we shall pay extra for a soda bottle and where we shall take it to get a deposit back. What type of health insurance we shall pay for and what doctor we shall see, and what type of treatments we shall receive. What type of guns we shall be able to buy, how many and how many bullets each one shall be allowed to hold, and how the auto loading features shall work. What we shall not do with the land that we paid for. What type of fluids we shall use in our air conditioners, and the color of the dye in our home heating oil and off-road diesel fuel. What insurance companies shall be allowed to solicit our business and what types of policies shall we allowed to purchase...

...what kind of frickin light bulbs we shall use!

I hope you two don't live close to each other, you are creating enough straw to create a flash fire...LOL

You know, I just don't understand why I can't drive 100 mph through a school zone. It's not like those parents couldn't have more kids to replace the ones I mow down...

Speed limits in school zones are set by municipalities and local governments, not the Feds. And the 'government' telling us how fast is unsafe in a school zone, is a far cry from 'government' telling us what kind of light bulbs we SHALL use. YOU made the statement that Conservatives were "authoritarians" but this was a LIBERAL initiative... part of that Global Warming thing. There were a bunch of other authoritarian mandates listed, and all of THOSE were LIBERAL initiatives, not Conservative. As a matter of fact, you've not actually presented any "authoritarian" conservative initiatives here... do you mind telling us about them?

WOW Dixie, if over the top were some form of normal, you'd still be outside the room. Light bulb authoritarians?
What you and DY are proving is that Jack and Jeanne Blocks study should win a Nobel Prize.

In 1969, Berkeley professors Jack and Jeanne Block embarked on a study of childhood personality, asking nursery school teachers to rate children's temperaments. They weren't even thinking about political orientation.

Twenty years later, they decided to compare the subjects' childhood personalities with their political preferences as adults. They found arresting patterns. As kids, liberals had developed close relationships with peers and were rated by their teachers as self-reliant, energetic, impulsive, and resilient. People who were conservative at age 23 had been described by their teachers as easily victimized, easily offended, indecisive, fearful, rigid, inhibited, and vulnerable at age 3. The reason for the difference, the Blocks hypothesized, was that insecure kids most needed the reassurance of tradition and authority, and they found it in conservative politics.

So instead of telling us about these so-called "authoritarian" conservative initiatives, you choose to change the subject to some trumped up bogus and subjective study done by a bunch of Berkley pinheads? Okay... now can you tell us about these phantom initiatives? Yeah..didn't think you had any!

Telling us what kind of light bulbs we SHALL use and purchase, is pretty dang 'authoritarian' if you ask me... I don't know... do YOU think that isn't very 'authoritarian' or what? Yeah, I suppose to a little Fascist Nazi Socialist, a little thing like light bulbs isn't a big deal to you, eh?

....Still waiting to hear about these Conservative 'authoritarian' initiatives..... any day now???

The thread title is 'A case for Michelle Bachmann'. Would it not be better if the word 'case' was omitted and the word 'box' substituted in its place?

So, you endorse The Dude/Topspin's constant 'dropout' attack, even though you know the reason I was forced to quit school was because my mother died, my father was terminally ill and as the oldest sibling, I chose to take care of my 13 year old sister and 7 year old brother?

That would make you a REAL partisan hack.

Oh poor little you. How dare anyone attack you!!! As you sit here attacking Bachmann's intelligence based on your blind hatred for anything and anyone that doesn't think JUST LIKE YOU. Shut the fuck up you whiny mangina

No, you can make any 'claims' you want, but there is no way to create authoritarian beliefs in a person other than a conservative upbringing. Liberalism is the antonym of authoritarianism.

You right wingers are so dumb. You claim you want less government, ONLY when a Democrat is in the White House, or Democrats control Congress. Otherwise, you will defense to the death authoritarians like Bush and Cheney, sanction torture of human beings (see Nazi Germany, Stalin's USSR). And you right wingers absolutely fawn over recent little dictators like Scott Walker and Chris Christie...the more inhumane and dictatorial they are, the bigger boner you get.

The very fact that you call Walker and Christie 'dictators' shows just how completely WARPED your views are. BOTH are ELECTED representatives. BOTH have worked to pass laws via their respective states LEGISLATURES. You are a complete hack. Deserving of little empathy.
