A 9-year-old boy shot his older sister to death over a video game controller, sheriff says

A 9-year-old boy retrieved a gun from his parents' bedroom and shot his 13-year-old sister to death, authorities said, after the two got into an argument over a video game controller.

The incident occurred over the weekend in rural Monroe County, Mississippi, as the children's mother was preparing lunch in the kitchen, the country sheriff said.

So young he likely doesn't even know he did something so horrible. Can't be prosecuted under the, maybe a mental facility.

In his defense he did call "next".

Just another sad chapter in the annals of American gun culture. Parents should be held legally responsible as well as gun manufacturer.

I blame lack of split screens in modern triple A titles, this could have all been avoided!

Bull Shtye ... when I was 9 I knew better than to point a real gun at someone and pull the trigger. I knew better than to hit, much less kill someone.. I bet you did too. I will agree the parents need to be accountable ... but the gun manufacturer? Uhuh. By that notion Tide needs to be held accountable for the stupidity of the parents and kids.

People need to do better.

The boy grabbed a handgun, which was kept in a nightstand next to the bed, and shot the sister in the back of the head, the sheriff said.

Hold the gun manufacturer responsible? Whoever left the gun on the nightstand is the one with blood on their hands.

They are selling a inherently dangerous product. Unless they make locks mandatory to secure their product they should be sued. They even have the technology now to prevent a gun from firing based off of your fingerprint. They refuse to implement this technology on their inherently dangerous product ergo they should be liable.

More baloney.

Tide isn't designed to be eaten. That is just stupid and yet another non-sequitur. The gun is designed to kill or maim. That is why the NRA had paid Congress to pass a law preventing them from being sued if someone uses their guns as designed, i.e. to kill or maim.
