Especially if they want to continue to get work. There's too much work in this market for a sub to waste time doing something for a contractor that has a track record of not paying them.

No, it was about every 8th customer in Portland that cheated me out of money. Never had the problem anywhere else in America that I have contracted work. In Connecticut and Ohio, I have perfect collection rates. Portland and its liberal base are not trustworthy customers was the conclusion I came to believe.

I see you've never been a contractor. There are countless general contractors that will screw every sub they can. They find new victims all the time. Pay them for the first couple jobs and promise them the whole contract. Then get them to keep working even when you're slow to pay them, and finally you stiff them for several jobs and find new subs to keep the ball rolling.

Portland is a liberal city. One of the customers who stiffed me had Hillary Clinton stuff on display, so yeah, liberals in that instance. The others, I don't know, but odds are they were liberals. The judge who dismissed my lien for $2700 certainly wasn't a conservative, was he/she?
