The archaeological record does not much of that, particularly your false statement of "millions" of victims. Those "facts" come straight from the Spaniards who conquered them, using that alleged behavior as justification for subjugating them. By "false equivalencies," of course you mean that Asian and white people did nothing of the sort. Well, except for that whole burning of "witches," the tortures and executions of at least 32,000 (per History.com) humans during the Spanish Inquisition, the experiments, tortures, rapes, and other horrific practices during the Holocaust, and so on.

Sure, the Nazis, like many other dictatorships usually on the Left and often Communist, practiced mass slaughter on the basis of racism, etc. They didn't do it ritualistically nor did they practice cannibalism.

The Spartans and many other Greek city states took unwanted babies outside the city walls and left them exposed on the ground to die of thirst or from predators.

I doubt if it matters if the deaths are caused by religious practices, racism/nationalism, or entertainment, esp. if you're one of the victims.

Dying for a sacred religious practice actually seems marginally less offensive than dying for the bloodsport entertainment of a stadium of people screaming for blood.

Let's face it, from our 21st century vantage point in a liberal democratic society, many of the traditions of Greeks, Romans, Indigenous Americans, Neolithic nomadic tribes seem cruel and unjust.

The attempt by the OP to single out South America tribes was obviously motivated by the bigotry of the thread author.

Exactly. It was also in response to the growing number of states and other entities that have put Columbus back in the box where he belongs, and are now recognizing the day as Indigenous People's Day. That's something ironically anathema to the Reichwing nationalists.

Christians in particular seem to relish martyrdom. Just look at how many of the saints were beatified due to their untimely religious-based deaths.

I think some on the left go to far in making Columbus into some type of epic war criminal for the ages. But on the other end of the spectrum he used to be glorified way too much. Some balance is definetly warranted
