67% of today’s deaths are from two places

So what happens when those from Pennsylvania and Ohio start flocking to WV to restaurants and Walmarts?

The virus knows no boundaries, besides, nothing personal, but how effect much does an open WV have on the national economy?

I’ve actually puzzled over that for weeks.

Geographically, WV is snuggled up in and between three states with much higher numbers. People from all three states cross over the border back and forth etc. For a small state we are well connected with interstates I-79, I-64 and I-77 all pass through here. That means trucks stops, foreigners stopping to eat etc.

Yet, here we are. I don’t have a good answer for our numbers when people from other states already ‘flock to and through’ WV and have been throughout all of this.

All I know is West Virginians aren’t going to sit still for it much longer.

bullshit

nothing will look like those leftist enclaves

COVID19 killed mostly democrats, no wonder they want mail in voting, they have fewer voters

ROFLMAO

BTW 83% of todays deaths were from 8 states. All run by democrat Governors. The stench of death is all over the democrat party

And probably 75% of the 83% of deaths are from NYC.

And it’s not too early to consider the prospect that COVID may never really ‘get going’ in many other states because they lack the population density of big democrat cities. Based on the models, I was supposed to be sequestered from the general population and living in a motel room, because I was going to be doing, whatever, with COVID patients by now.

That’s what the governor of WV said a month ago.

But here I sit, basically unemployed, while women are waiting to have their breast biopsy and etc. Think about that: would you want your wife to be forced to wait when it’s possible she has breast cancer? That is going on, right now, in many parts of the country.

And it WILL cost lives. I wonder if the good doctor Fauci has considered that.

At any rate, still think the numbers are going to drop off at a faster rate than they climbed.

I thought it was only elective surgeries and tests that were being postponed. Breast biopsies are not elective nor is surgery, if required.

Breast biopsies aren’t emergencies and if they aren’t emergencies they’re elective.

Emergencies are typically defined as life or limb threatening, acute abdominal [ruptured bowel etc], scute trauma, gun shot injuries or etc. Or put is this way: Nobody gets ‘bumped’ off the surgery schedule for a breast biopsy. Or if that happened, there would be an unhappy surgeon at the front desk reaming the charge nurse or whoever made the decision lol.

Granted, elective/emergent isn’t always black and white. And I know for a fact at least one doc where I work is ignoring it altogether. But I also know our surgery schedule board is barren at my place and I don’t think our breast guy is working at all.

I’m sure we’re not unique in the country. The point is the lockdown will have health costs that aren’t directly related to COVID infections—and they may end up being considerable, if this goes on much longer.

This has all been a scam. I said so from the very beginning.

Well, the pandemic is real but it’s being scammed by the usual suspects.

I see where NYT and WashPo finally found their ‘Trump is a fault’ narrative and they’re pushing it for all it’s worth. All they care about is the next election.

Despicable, doesn’t begin to describe them. Every time I think they’ve finally found the bottom they somehow manage to out-do themselves.

If a breast biopsy is deemed necessary by a doctor, he probably thinks that cancer is highly possible. That's an emergency, were it my esposa.

Glad that at least one doctor there is ignoring the "emergency" guidelines.

Indeed, there will be huge health costs if tests and surgeries are so restrictive. I expect the rules are bent at most hospitals.

I picked breast biopsy out of the air lol.

It’s easy for some third party to deem the surgery you need as ‘elective’. Someone who is willing to pay their outrageous ‘post-Obama deductible’ to have they’re surgery done—they must want it done pretty bad. Or need it done pretty bad.

My daughter works for the perfusion team at the local heart center. I actually don’t know a lot about heart surgery other than the fact I would think they are kind of critical. But she was mandated off last week and she just texted me and said they had ‘nothing today’.

Idk, other than the fact that’s probably not a good thing for the patients involved.

Yes, "elective" and "emergency" are in the eyes of the beholder.

My niece is a surgeon at a hospital in Atlanta. I haven't spoken with her about the surgeries but my sister says she is still very busy. Must be a lot of emergencies.

God bless all the doctors, nurses and staff folks...first respondents ...heroes all.

90 percent of Chinese disease patients had preexisting conditions, the most common of them being hypertension, obesity, chronic lung disease, diabetes mellitus, and cardiovascular disease.

The data that formed the basis of the inference was obtained from the COVID-19 – Associated Hospitalization Surveillance Network, or COVID – NET, which prepares population-wise surveillance database for the confirmed coronavirus hospitalizations in the U.S.

Largest U.S. study of COVID-19 finds obesity the single biggest factor in New York’s hospitalizations

Doctors at NYU Langone Health center conducted the largest study so far of U.S. hospital admissions for COVID-19, focused on New York City. They found obesity, along with age, was the biggest deciding factor in hospital admissions.
