6.5 m social security numbers linked to those age 112 and up

HAHA, that's awesome. Surely there are basic safeguards they could use to highlight the DOB for anyone born on or before the year 1905?

The funny thing? "IF" big brother lived by his own edits a social security number would be no problem for anyone...as it was never intended and in fact it is federally "illegal" to use a persons SS number for identification purposes.

The DOD has issued us all DOD-ID numbers, which have replaced the SSN on our ID cards, and are slowly being used in place of SSN when requested over the phone and for the purpose of retrieving records, etc.

given that anyone using these socials immediatly raises a red flag wouldnt they just have to check? maybe place a call to the company to see if someone aged 150 did apply which triggered the everify check?

Funny thing.....I am retired military after 21 years service having retired under the Montgomery GI Bill and every move I make, every breath I take requires an Identification with the last 4 of my SS NUMBER along with a military picture ID card documenting my retirement status:). The point being..this number was to be used for SS retirement records only...hell right on the card issued from the Government the words "FOR SOCIAL SECURITY AND TAX PURPOSES -- NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION" are present.

I worked as a temp at Woodlawn. Md. ( Bureau of Disability) back in the lat 1970s
Believe me they have the resources..
Maybe if the bureaucrats actually didn't accrue annual leave at such an alarming rate.
