I disagree on Eastern Europe, especially for the countries around the Black Sea. If we were to allow Russia to resume control of them, it could cut off a potential supply of oil (and nat gas).

Well, in all honesty, I was thinking more in terms of internal strife, such as the Balkans and the fucking Serbs. The idea that Russia would try to reacquire the Iron Curtain always seems like such a distant thought, although certainly not impossible.
