The racism of that system is far worse than it was in the 60's, and the undeniable truth of that is reflected in the statistics. I was speaking with a Jewish friend last week who wanted my opinion about why Black people get away with an attitude of entitlement while Jews don't. Now I am not suggesting I accepted her premise, but I did explain that the problems Jews have faced in our country are not akin to those the African American has faced. She might have had an argument about Jews in Germany, but I don't know how they are treated now days. But I explained to her that the major difference was caused by a separation from ones culture and family. Slaves who were brought here were separated from all culture they knew and all family they knew, and for many generations any and all attempts at rebuilding a culture or family structure were prevented. (in some ways still are) Add to that the fact that African Americans look different than white Americans and were segregated in many ways from the power centers of our culture and you can see how Jewish Americans as a group are in a different place than many African Americans. So, do African Americans have a strong sense of entitlement? Some do, but I understand it, most did not start with the same benefits the rest of our society generally starts with, because our (my) ancestors took it from them.

AGAIN, its the CONSERVATIVES who are ranting about the moral decay she is causing. Its the CONSERVATIVES running around like their heads are cut off screaming about how bad things are, when the reality is that things are better than they have ever been in many areas, and in this area things are just like they have been since Mae West shocked her fans.

Who are the conservatives you are referring to that are saying Miley Cyrus is causing moral decay?

I haven't really noticed a difference between democratic, and republican supporters negetive comments about her act. I don't watch the news much anymore so what I get is from people around me, and it pretty much sounds the same.

He's just being an idiot trying to make it partisan. There's nothing partisan about her performance. As many have already said here it sucked all the way around. She clearly went overboard trying to be 'provocative'. She just sucks.

The fact that I'm not single, and I have kids means that I'm around parents a lot. Jarod must be young and single, or just never been a parent. Dem, and Rep parents view it differently than someone like Jarod. And in Jarods world everone that's like him is a Dem, and all the rest are crazy Reps.

This is all something that Jarod must not be able to comprehend.

Why are we talking about Miley Cyrus? I have no idea of what her performance was, and no desire to watch it. But she is not some kind of representative of progress or lack of progress in 50 years.
