4 men and 1 woman are accused of kidnapping an 18-year-old and attempting to force her into prostitution.

Police arrested five people from Northern California in connection with kidnapping a woman and forcing her into prostitution, officials said.

The victim, 18, was allegedly kidnapped on Friday by the suspects who were armed with pistols, police said.

After being abducted, the victim was sexually assaulted by two of the five suspects, police said. She was then told she would be forced into prostitution at a hotel in Moreno Valley.

Officers were called to the 24800 block of Elder Avenue before 5 p.m. after receiving reports of a disturbance at the hotel, according to Sgt. John Sawyer of the Riverside County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force.

The victim had slipped away from her captors as they were distracted and summoned police.

Had she started working as a prostitute yet?

I don't know. Since you change the size of the links you post, the will not click. That means we have to highlight the link info, open a new page, and paste it in the address block to go there. I get tired of the extra effort you create.

Poor baby.

They were booked on charges of human trafficking, abduction for prostitution, false imprisonment and kidnapping for sexual assault.

Didn't you say earlier a woman forced into whoredom wouldn't do that for fear of being arrested herself?

Which is why I asked if she had been working yet. Also, since she had been kidnapped she would probably not be responsible for her crimes. But whether she knows that or not is a question.

So it didn't say whether she had actually started working as a prostitute.

Yet she didn't hesitate so apparently she wasn't afraid of being arrested.

But the thugs were charged with "abduction for prostitution", weren't they?

Why wouldn't Blockhead want people to check his sources?? To read what he's posted and make up their own minds. Oh never mind.

Just wondered.

Are you going to start a campaign to have the charges dismissed against the accused, on the grounds that the alleged victim hadn't actually turned a single trick yet??

What? How do you twist what I said far enough to get there?

None of the charges hinged on her working as a hooker. So they shoud stand.

The ONLY reason I brought up whether she had worked or not is because you tried to insinuate that I was wrong in a statement in another thread.

Talk about flailing.....

Another case...the victim was not arrested.

A Long Beach man and his mother were in federal court Thursday for allegedly working together to prostitute a local runaway when the girl was only 15 years old.

A five-count indictment handed down by a federal grand jury charged Joshua Jerome Davis, 22, and his mother, Sharilyn Kae Anderson, 45, with child sex trafficking; coercion and enticement of a minor; transporting a minor; and aiding and abetting, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California.

Davis, who was allegedly assisted and counseled by Anderson, is accused of prostituting the victim at several hotels in Southern California and transporting her across state lines to Nevada to engage in commercial sex in Las Vegas casinos.

Note that she had been forced to engage in prostitution...in Nevada, where licensed brothels are legal. Did she enjoy your "3 benefits"?

Was she working in a legal brothel? Since she was 15 I would guess she was not.

As I said, the benefits were to those working legal sex trades.
