45% now trust the GOP more

all depends on the taxes. the dem party is floating around VAT tax for health care, Tax on Cow farts, more taxes on convenience products. If our standard of living goes down because of inflation or more taxes from a federal level over the next couple years obama will be a one termer because whom ever is running on the R ticket will just run on massive tax cut platform. This isnt rocket science.

Let's say what you postulate comes to pass, and President Obama is a one-termer.

If a Republican did run on a massive tax cut platform and won, wouldn't that just prove how gullible a majority of the population really is and nothing more?

Those that want a third party in America definitely argue that with you. People like BAC who argue that Americans just switch their vote between tweedle dee (Republicans) and tweedle dumb (Democrats) and nothing ever changes.

Raising kids conservative is basically child abuse.

And about the "liberal uniform," can you really say that without thinking about the "conservative uniforms" you see everywhere?

Further proof that they suffered a temporary insanity and elected a tax and spend democrat majority in the midst of an economic storm and have now come to their senses.

Yea, we should have just let the economy FAIL and the country with it...

Such patriots on the right...let the people SUFFER, punishment it GOOD, helping is EVIL...

Never thought I would see Bfgrn in support of Bush's economic policies.

What a tragic post this is, on a few levels.

Check the polls; it doesn't matter what you believe.

As for the economy, you seem to be against spending or stimulus, but IF the economy does recover this year...it's because of Bush's spending, and not Obama's?

That's some truly special hackery there.

Right on dude, damned thing wouldn't let me give you rep points on that one.

"most American's still support the stimiulus". No they don't. In fact most people believe it will be wasted. Most of Obama's spending had to do with growing government which is NEVER good for economic growth in the midst of economic downturns. McCain would have been much better than Obama on the economy.

Forty-five percent (45%) of Americans say the rest of the new government spending in the stimulus plan should be stopped right away, but 36% disagree. Seventy-six percent (76%) say it is at least somewhat likely that a large amount of money in the stimulus plan will be wasted due to inadequate government oversight.
You're grasping at straws. I voted Republican for over 20 years and right now the Republican party has the dubious reputation of being able to foul up a wet dream and if you don't believe that then just throw down an election because that's a Pepsi challenge I'm willing to take. I think Republicans would be handed their heads again, that is, unless they reach out for help......but that's not going to come from the far right.

Thirty percent (30%) of voters now say the $787-billion economic stimulus plan passed by Congress is hurting the U.S. economy, up three points from late last month.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that for the second month in a row 31% say the plan has helped the economy. That's down from 34% who thought the plan would help in late February just after Congress approved it.

Thirty-one percent (31%) now say the plan has had no impact on the economy, also unchanged from May.
