I doubt that the red and blue rift can ever be mended. The weird thing is, there is no reason for it to exist. We're not at war. We have wealth and security and food and medicine and entertainment and one of the world's highest standards of living. If your tax burden is onerous, it's only because we let our masters -- the oligarchs -- not pay their fair share. They want us divided this way. Why, do you think?

I think that it's incompatible people and a blind belief in "American Exceptionalism."
True Believers were created by poor, unsophisticated, nationalist education,
and they can't imagine that others do many things better than we do.

I don't think that the rift can be mended either.
That's why I'm a partitionist.
The American Experiment has clearly failed.
