American Millennials are far more likely than older generations to say the government should be able to prevent people from saying offensive statements about minority groups, according to a new analysis of Pew Research Center survey data on free speech and media across the globe.
We asked whether people believe that citizens should be able to make public statements that are offensive to minority groups, or whether the government should be able to prevent people from saying these things. Four-in-ten Millennials say the government should be able to prevent people publicly making statements that are offensive to minority groups, while 58% said such speech is OK.
 
our country is fucked. my shitty generation is going to teach the next generation about trigger warnings and safe spaces. it's going to be a disaster.
 
notice also how women are 10% more fascist than men. Women should not be allowed to vote. Christiefan should be blocked from the polls. She is a usurper.

I tried to warn you, Darla is the voice of rationality and reasonableness compared to the generation going through university now. They will be in positions of power in 15 years or so, unfortunately many just seem to be fascists who will not countenance any dissent.

This poll is not very useful without some past polls to compare against.

There are plenty of old folks that want to limit speech, e.g., flag burning and various types of bans on sexual content. They just don't give a damn about minorities.

True. Your flag thing is as odd as the racism. I used to burn the Unionist flag every Empire Day at school. They didn't like it, but knew of no reason to stop me.
