These high ass gas prices won't be MAGA?!!

New York (CNN Business)US gasoline prices are becoming a real pain for motorists, particularly in the west.

A survey of more than 5,000 gas stations conducted by AAA shows that the average price for a gallon of regular gas is now $2.75, up 11% in the last month. And the average price is already above $3 a gallon in six western states: California, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, Nevada and Alaska.

Four-dollar gas is the average in a couple of California counties. Many others are within a few cents of that mark, including San Francisco, where the average price is $3.98. The statewide average in California is up 20 cents a gallon, or 5%, to $3.83 in just the last week.

The Midwest has also been hit by price spikes. The average price in Chicago has jumped 46 cents a gallon, or 16%, to $3.27 in the last month.

Now, why do you suppose gas is over 4 dollars in certain California counties? More importantly, did you complain when gas was four bucks under Obama? Of course not, liberals celebrated the high gas prices. STFU.

Why are you complaining? High gas prices mean people buy more fuel efficient cars. Just another example of someone who says they care about global warming but don’t like having to sacrifice anything themselves.

Ken, do you support the fuel efficiency standards we have in California that make gas as much as $1/gallon more than the rest of the country?

Trump’s fault

What say you Ken? Do you support higher fuel efficiency standards that increase gas prices? Do you agree that higher gas prices are better to deal with climate change?

My next vehicle will be electric, I hope in five years time, electric vehicles will have a 400 mile range and a 10 minute full charge time or less!

Yep. I was paying $4 a gallon back in 2014 when I moved away from Connecticut. Been there... done that.

Still under $3 here in Columbus.

Enjoy your big city, libtards!

That is all utopian thinking for this country unless we have more power plants and a smart grid. Sounds good though.

I do believe he is implying hypocrisy on Trump's part given Trump taking credit for lowering gas prices at an earlier time

"Trump claims credit for cheap gas"
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/po...credit-cheap-gas-experts-say-it-s-not-n953626

In reality, a President has little control over gas prices, may be able to influence such in a long run, but is incapable of reversing sudden or market changes.

However, just like the Stock Market, and unlike most prior Presidents, this reality doesn't seem to influence Trump, when indicators are up he is quick to take credit, when down, goes quiet, or blames somebody else. He knows the Trumpkins will only remember the former and forget the later, the 'singalman" is just reminding them

Columbus, Ohio? Did you think the largest city in Ohio was a small town? or, probably more like Columbus, Mississippi, which is so, well good luck with that one

Your arguments are weak. Dunning and Kruger called: You made the allstar team!

Charging a dead EV battery in 10 minutes for a 400 mile range requires more current than you think. You will need a new service entrance on your house for it. Most people will have difficulty lifting the wire for the required current. Then you'll roast the battery or even cause it to explode ramming that much current into it. You're talking about 120 amps. That's for a small car driving at 50mph the whole way. (and no heat). You're dreamin'.

I can fuel up a gasoline car in about 3 minutes. To do that to an electric car means ramming 360 amperes of current into the thing! You'll need a crane to lift that wire! Never mind the connector on the car passing that much current!

Now you COULD use a higher voltage to get reasonable current values, but now you are talking about working with 1000v or more. Truly dangerous to handle with those currents. You'll still be drawing the hefty current on the primary. Hope you got a solid hunk of ground to put that rock of a voltage converter.

There's a reason it takes hours to charge an electric car.

EV's can be pretty good in the snow. They make decent commuting vehicles. It's their limited range that get's 'em. After 400 miles, you have to spend hours to charge it again. They are expensive cars, too. The life of a typical lithium pack is about 7 years. The affect of an aged pack is reduced range.

Hybrids can be a better solution, but they get the gas mileage of a typical compact car. Commuting in these still gives you the electric vehicle ability, and supplemental charging can reduce your use of gasoline to charge the batteries. You might consider them instead. At least they have a cross country capability if you want it.

A big reason gas prices are higher is because the dollar is falling against a variety of commodities, including oil and gold. The result of quantitative easing working its way into the wider markets. Another big reason is simply increased taxes. Both are caused by our own government.

Precisely why a (primarily) coal powered vehicle will never work for me. If I lived and traveled in or near the city, and basically only used it as a commuter vehicle, then it would be great. I have needs beyond that, however.

Yup, in terms of keeping the range, they would be. For my specific needs, they don't work either. They are too small. I currently have a compact SUV (still sorta small, but big enough anyway) as my commuter (get through the snow) vehicle and a Town Car (big boat of a car) as my "weekend" (other three seasons, cruiser) vehicle. If one needs work done on it, like one does right now, then I can keep using the other one until it gets fixed.

Bingo! Nice to see someone understand what is actually going on regarding this...

I bet one trillion dollars you did not.
