3rd study in last week+ shows masks work

This has gotta be one of the saddest debates of all time.

It goes back to Trump's leadership. He casts such a spell on so many. If he was behind masks, they'd be behind them. But he turned them into a PC/virtue-signaling thing. And we'll have 2nd & 3rd waves as a result.

I would add that you DO have that right. If you own a business, you are absolutely free to force your customers to wear masks. And you sure as hell wouldn't come into my house without one. And of course officials can issue orders to require facemasks in public places. What I still don't understand is why this is even a thing? There is no reasonable disagreement about whether masks are effective. So what's the issue? I guess the cult loves to play poor widdle victim.

My issue is I live in Louisiana so the stupid is very strong here...very strong

Those with frontal lobe damage tend to be impulsive, reckless and lack executive resources to assess, plan and therefore engage in goal oriented behavior. It's a sad medical fact. Think Phineas Gage.
They are also angry, selfish and lacking in empathy. A lethal cocktail that makes it hard for others to live. It's like others don't have rights, only they do. Anyway, that's why they are willing to risk their and others health.
Brain damage.
 
Masks keep you from spreading whatever you have. If everyone wore a mask, Corona would have been dead long ago. They work. But the rightys have the power to do whatever they want, so they will ignore the health problems they cause. I have a god-given right to puke Corona into your face. Now do not take away my rights.

BTW, where is your link? Do you know the methodology of the study? How they compared groups? Inclusion and exclusion criteria? How they adjusted for bias?

It's easy to google, but I can link it for you if you'd like. It was one of 3 studies in the last 2 weeks. We also have tons of anecdotal evidence - like the 2 hairdressers in MO who both had COVID, saw 140 clients and didnt infect one, because they wore masks.

Seriously - what difference does it make? You have your story and you're sticking to it. We could have definitive proof that masks are 100% guaranteed to stop the virus today if everyone wore 'em, and you'd still call it a bullying lefty plot to take over America.

Well, as I pointed out in a thoughtful post in APP, the masks people are using CAN'T work. Cloth masks are worse than doing nothing. N95 and surgical masks only work one way and they are opposite each other. One is either letting stuff in and the other is letting stuff out.

But by all means provide the study. I doubt you read it and just took the top line from MediaMatters or something. Maybe HuffPo.

You should always provide a link. It is message board etiquette. Otherwise we are left to think you just made it up

It makes me nervous to count my chickens before they are hatched, there is still a possibility of an electoral win for Trump.

Biden must run his campaign like he’s behind. His campaign also has to expand his social media campaign. He should hire some Bernie supporters.

2) Do you confront people out in public for NOT wearing a mask?

In order for masks to be effective, people have to actually wear one.
