How many of those people about to lose their homes were likely to get Chinese Official Virus Intended for Death (COVID) at all? How many of them were likely to die because of that?

As of right now, about 5% of people in the US have contracted COVID. (17.5 million cases / 330 million population)

The death toll for those without preexisting, serious medical conditions and / or over 65 is negligible. For those under 35 the death rate is less than 1% nationally.

So, locking everything down to prevent--supposedly since this disease is still spreading rapidly in places locked down--COVID spread has been nothing but an economic disaster. It hasn't slowed the spread in any measurable way. In fact, the most dangerous place to be right now is in a nursing home locked down.

So, we have so-called "experts" telling us lockdowns will help while months of evidence prove they are talking out their ass. That's observable and measurable evidence that's now available. It's those politicians, mostly Democrat, that are listening to these "experts" who clearly don't know what the hell they're talking about that are destroying people's lives unnecessarily.

This situation (people losing their homes) was brought on almost entirely by bad public policy pushed down our throats by idiot politicians, mostly of the Democrat stripe. The cure is indeed worst than the disease.

You know as well as I do that the number of opinions in any group are often equal to the number of members. Decisions are made by consensus. If the consensus consistently goes against some members, they have a choice to continue with the group or consider alternative solutions.

That point aside, you and I also know that, realistically, national elections are often binary choices regardless if a person is a member of that party or not. For this reason, the 40% of the voting population that are independents are often the key to candidates winning or losing an election.

The question still comes down to whether people should vote for their own benefit or the benefit of the greater whole.

I'm against national lockdowns. What states or cities choose to do is up to them but I'd vote against it since, as laid out below, I think it can be avoided except as a last resort.

That said, the Republicans have totally FUBAR'd the COVID response. You and I both know the power of good leadership, consistent leadership and leadership by example. Trump failed in every category even though he knew better. Why?

Massachusetts

If we eliminated those three from the US total we're doing great compared to many other countries on our response.
