3.2% inflation

To me, the idea of what 'benefits the average citizen' can be very subjective. I'll look at what we do in California. We pass energy policies, in the name of supporting the environment and fighting climate change, that make our gas prices $5 - $6 gallon, electrical bills sky high etc. We make building new housing extremely difficult which benefits those who are already own their home and are often well to do and make it almost impossible for the average citizen to purchase a home and make renting costs sky high as well. I could go on.

So working class folks here complain all the time about the cost of living. And this is a state with very few Republican politicians. So this idea that simply voting Democratic benefits the average citizen has some holes in it.

Sure. I would never argue Democrat politics is perfect. There are lots of corporate Dems and self serving Dem's.

But there really are NO Republi'cans' trying to push any policy or legislation that benefits the common citizen. They have been near 10)5 captured by corporate, donor and Trump interests.

the only benefits any citizen would ever feel is that which happens when you juice the corporate sector or donors with tons of money, by spiking debt and cutting taxes, which causes that sugar high i speak of that hurts the country long term.

Think of it in the same corporate raiders in the 80's would do Leveraged Buy Outs to buy big successful companies with tons of debt.

They would pay out current shareholders at a profit with debt, while then gutting R&D and laying off as mch staff as they could all to cause a short term bump in the bottom line, that actually great hurt the company over the long term. but it worked short term as that rush of new money came in and hit the bottom line.

that is ALL Republi'cans' do over and over.

Forget it, the MAGA have come up with new variables to measure the economy, during the Obama recovery it was Labor Participation Rate, and now they’ve added another to counter any signs of economic improvement

Inflation is not the economy. There was no 'Obama recovery'.

Trump left office as the worst jobs President in modern history, and having helped lay the groundwork for global inflation, which started just prior to Biden actually being inaugurated.

Trump was an economic disaster as President. Considering what he inherited - Biden hasn't done too bad.

Inflation was started by DEMOCRATS by FDR.
It was DEMOCRATS that started the current economic depression, not Trump.

The unemployment rate when Trump left office was a distressing 6.7 percent.

Millions of people lost their jobs under Trump.

Losing your job is exponentially worse than being annoyed at the price of peanut butter and hamburger meat.
COVID  It is kind of hard to remain employed when the Democrat govenor shuts your place of employment down. It is hard to have a honest conversation with you when you knowingly use such specious arguments.

Glad you admit the Biden economy is working for you and you are not struggling.
Well the Biden economy hasn't really hurt me because I have shares in producing oil wells. The increase in the price of oil has actually helped my monthly income substantially. Since I own my home and my vehicles the only thing that is much worse for me is food . And I don't eat much. Inflation has hurt some of my relatives and I help them out.

I was doing that for a while, but the wells produce less over time and the checks and the 1099's and all the local taxes you have to pay, were really annoying so I sold at the top of the market on several occasions--the last time being at the beginning of this year. The money I got was obscene.

Still, I think it's an abomination that groceries for a month are now hitting like $750 +. The selection of products at the grocery stores is also getting worse.

Trump botched the COVID response, badly.

It led to more job losses, and more long-term job losses.

That's the history.
 Trump got TWO vaccines produce 4 times faster than any vaccine had ever been produced. Trump got ventilators and hospital supplies manufactured using wartime powers. He had to replace supplies that Obama and Biden had depleted and not replaced. Trump supplied floating hospital ships and huge field hospitals to New York and other cities. Trump oversaw the production of therapeutics at a record setting pace. COVID was a novel virus and every medicine for it was new. Trump got it done in record time. If that is what you consider botched then maybe you should reconsider your flawed reasoning. What led to more job loses was states like NY Mich. Calf. Staying shut down LONG after states like Florida and Texas were open for business.

I accept your confession that losing a job is far worse than the price of diapers and lite beer.

The Trump recession started in December of 2019 before there was a pandemic.

Presidents are supposed to be able to handle emergencies. Trump's response to COVID lagged behind many other developed nations, and not every developed country went into a deep and debilitating recession

No one can spin it quite like you.

Trump sent mixed signals about everything. He didn't lead. By HIS OWN ADMISSION, he downplayed the virus to the public. He created the impression in the beginning that it was a hoax, then kept saying it would "disappear."

He was a mess. Terrible pandemic President.

As for the vaccine, any President would have removed the restrictions that allowed it to be produced so quickly. And he created so much doubt about the virus that MANY of his supporters wouldn't get it when it was ready. He got booed by his own crowd for trying to promote it.

Think about that.

And he also had NO PLAN for deployment and administration of the vaccine - which Biden changed on his 1st day in office.

The job losses are on Trump. He is the worst jobs President in modern American history. That is statistical fact.

Demand is collapsing as this recession progresses into a probable depression.

Look at freight data for proof.

My former medical partner is a petroleum geologist. He buys leases and works ups the geology and determines where to drill. Then he sells the lease to a producer. He always has a 1/16th override. If he KEEPS those shares rather than selling them then I invest in the project because I knows he has a high degree of confidence. So far it has worked out very well. We have been very successful in natural gas. He and I bought 1200 acres near Midlothian Texas and hit gas then bought 360 acres near it and it hit too. But yes some of our first wells are in decline.

My wife constantly complains about the lack of availability of products at Krogers so she hits two or three stores to find what she wants.

What did you want Trump to do Run around pulling his hair out screaming? Of course the President should be calm and understated so as not to cause a panic. You are aware more people have died from COVID during the Biden administration during the Trump administration.

Sure thing. Because, as we all know, the only options are lying, or running around pulling your hair out & screaming.
