2nd day of Essential Government Services...

19,000 children are affected because Head Start is shut down.

WIC payments have stopped; women with children will have less food.

Oh yeah, you don't care about them I guess.

My town has a whole lot of federal workers who aren't being paid now.

Tourists will stop coming which will hurt our economy as well.

This isn't a joke.

The U.S. Senate's leading Democrat found himself in embarrassingly hot water Wednesday, after dismissing the idea of funding children's cancer research through the government shutdown.

'If you can help one child, why won't you do it?' asked CNN reporter Dana Bash.

'Why, why, why would we want to do that?' countered Reid.

lmao.....yeah, why fund research of childrens cancer during the shutdown....why indeed...

Damo and bravo playing from the same sheet. Sad. Well, I supposed they're the ones being played, but they seem to enjoy it. To each his own.

Yes it is and so are you.

I had to fight 6 regiments of Soviet Paratroopers today. I thought they weren't coming at first, but then I forgot how long it takes for paratroopers to fly from Moscow to Detroit. Damn shut down, making me use up ammo.

Well, the Soviets have stopped, but now the Canadian hockey zombies are charging across the bridge. Without border patrol, it looks like it's up to me....again....

I am the hero this country needs.

sorry dude, but if the Canuks invade the LAST place they would try it is Detroit......it just isn't safe.....

No it's not. My mother-in law works for headstart. She went to work yesterday and today, and is planning to do so until January (when their funding is supposedly gone).

Well, it depends on the funding date for the particular Head Start program. So, like, just becuase the program where your mother-in-law works is open and funded does not mean that all Head Start programs are in the same situation. The fact of the matter is that 19,000 children in Head Start programs are effected by the shutdown.

Then I was unaware. However, the program as a whole it not shut down like Tekky claimed. Now if you excuse me, I have an apocalypse to survive.
