GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) - Tiny bodies lying side by side wrapped in white burial shrouds. The cherubic face of a dead preschooler sticking up from the rubble of her home. A man cradling a wounded boy in a chaotic emergency room after Israel shelled a U.N. school.

Children, who make up more than half of crowded Gaza's 1.4 million people, are the most defenseless victims of the war between Israel and Hamas. The Israeli army has unleashed unprecedented force in its campaign against Hamas militants, who have been taking cover among civilians.

A photo of 4-year-old Kaukab Al Dayah, just her bloodied head sticking out from the rubble of her home, covered many front pages in the Arab world Wednesday. "This is Israel," read the headline in the Egyptian daily Al-Masry Al-Youm. The preschooler was killed early Tuesday when an F-16 attacked her family's four-story home in Gaza City. Four adults also died.

As many as 257 children have been killed and 1,080 wounded - about a third of the total casualties since Dec. 27, according to U.N. figures released Thursday.

I saw some of the pictures, on BBC, I don't think they show them on our MSM, do they?
I don't watch very often and when I do it is Rachel or Keith!
 
Yeah BBC has the most non glossed over news on the middle east.
Today BBC said that Israel had admitted that no missles had been fired from the school compound.
 
BBC does much better reporting than their American corpo-fascist counterparts. The only people who do good reporting here, is probably PBS and NPR, although they are woefully underfunded, and conservatives want to get rid of what little they have so that they can pass all news through their big brother corporate filter.

we should thank iran for supplying those rockets to hamas

seems that iran has taken over gaza

why do not the arabs complain about arab suicide bombers that kill innocent civilians

i still say that if another nation was lobbing rockets into the u s of a that there would be screams for retaliation and invasion

the whole thing is a propaganda move by iran/hamas and the world is reacting just like iran/hamas wants them to

very few soldiers killed or wounded, but lots of civilians - the whole thing sucks

ps hamas/iran both take the position that israel has no right to exist and should be completely destroyed - along with all of its citizens
 
Of course y'all only watch tv shots from Hamas because they are the only one's who have camera rights where the bombs hit. But it works wonders with folks like y'all.

I'm embarassed to even ask a political question. Generalizing here but at least on this board 'conservatives' seem to support Isreal while 'liberals' seem to support Palistine. Yet Jews vote like 75% for Dems. Go figure???

Well there are two reasons for that. Polls have always shown that American Jews by a large majority simply do not support the right wing Israeli position. What is barely and rarely understood is that it is the Israeli hard right who creates the narrative on Israel in this country. People often get fooled into believing that this is the "jewish position", but it isn't. It's just the really loud jewish position.

The other reason is that who the fuck can tell a difference between a democrat and a republican when it comes to israel?

How friggin typical.... Hamas hides behind children to 'fight' against Israel and Israel gets all of the blame for the deaths of the kids. When is the UN going to condemn Hamas for using Human shields???
 
Let me get this straight. These people have lived there for generations. THe last few months Israel has shut all borders and not allowed in food or medicine and has not allowed people to leave to get food or medicine. The have over the decades forced them into smaller and smaller land patches. These people are are very poor. So now when Israeli Government broke the cease fire by breaching their land on Nov. 4th ( huh I wonder why they chose that date?) no one seems to notice. We have 1.4 million people crammed into a land mass that is like the size of a postage stamp. The first rocket aimed at anyone during the cease fire came from the Israeli side.

So given these facts when the Israeli governmnet bombs buildings in a city ... like , oh say .....A UN school and children are killed ( who would guess there are children there), the line of the people who HATE all government and think its inherently evil is to believe the Israeli Government talking points that the children were placed there as a shield?

The red cross is lying and the Vatican is just taking a political line because they want a war with The Jews.

When did any Government become incapable of telling a lie?

Is it Just the Israeli Government that is incapable of a lie?

They are about to have an election folks.

War sucks. I think both sides have legitimate claim to the land. I think both sides are partially to blame for this violence. I could create a case that both sides are right or wrong in there actions. War sucks
