Just about EVERYTHING you buy will be going up.
Trumps 20% ACROSS the board will also include oil, and The CEOs of big oil have already said they could drive up the cost of fuel / gas a dollar a gallon and that cost will be passed on to the US consumer driving up the cost of EVERYTHING you buy,
It is a FACT if you bought it at sometime in it's life it was on a truck and those fuel prices will be paid by the Consumer.

It was the usual MAGA GREIVANCE OLYMPICS 100M Dash to list as many things horrible about America followed by promises of the most stupid and banal manner. For some reason he felt the Inauguration Address was the place to resurrect the whole "Gulf of America" thing. He even worked in "Drill Baby Drill".

When I was a child I was obsessed with JFK and I had a 45 of his inauguration speech and had a lot of it memorized. I wonder what will happen for kids in this era.

Only so much. Trump is promising across the board tariffs of extremely high rates. That won't be absorbed.

But his Inaug Speech was hilairous when he suggested we are going to make foreign countries pay a "tax" to enrich us. That's gonna work like a charm. I don't know why someone didn't think of that before.

Trump is a moron playing to morons.

Tariffs are how the FF's used to fund most of our country, until socialist started confiscating workers' wages. :dunno:

Hey, Dr. Tuchman, we couldn't afford to exist as a country with just tariffs. Now that we have a GIANT MILITARY which you guys won't let us cut in any way we are stuck with an internal revenue service.

Oil and gas go on the world market so they will also have Trumps tariffs put on them.
We import between 8 to 10 MBPD of oil off the world market and Trumps tariffs will drive that cost up.
and a lot of the oil we use for gas comes from other countries.
Back when Trump told you we were energy " independent " he lied, we were a major exporting country of energy NOT independent, and when he didn't do anything to help the US oil industry the first time they went to him and asked for help to stop the Saudi oil price war that drove over 100 US oil drilling and producing companies into bankruptcy because they could not compete with oil prices being so low.
It was AFTER they went bankrupt that he FINALLY went to the Saudi's and told them to cut their production and RAISE the price of oil or he was going to stop ALL military aid to them that they did, but by then it was too late for some of the US oil companies and they never recovered and went out of business.
It was then we went from a major exporting country of energy back to a major importing country of energy.
WE were NEVER energy independent, and as long as we still have to import electric from Canada we won't be.
That electric we get supplies a lot of our northern states and I am sure the consumers of that electric will be pissed when their electric bills go p 25% or more.

If it doesn't happen after Trump enacts what he promised to enact to get elected I will be glad to admit that numbers no longer make sense and money no longer functions according to mathematics or economics or psychology and that up is down and right is wrong.

This is why John Fetterman said libs should pace themselves, and not shit the bed over every little thing. You only make bigger fools of yourselves than usual. People who understand Trump realize these threats of tariffs are a negotiating tactic.
