2024 Shock: Biden 36%, Trump 50%

We'd be better off with the federal government doing nothing than with the one we have deliberately fucking things up.
Yea. Republicans are indeed standing in the way. They should just get the hell out of the way and let the adults legislate.

Kind of a tough one. Just like the GOP, it seems like the "faces" of the Dem Party are more on the extremes now.

I really liked Klobuchar the last time around, but I'm not even sure if she'd run again. The nominee could be someone who is not even on the radar yet.
Buttigieg should have been the nominee in '20. I'm sure he'll be in the running.

Trump consistently beats Biden in polling.
Not tryting to make too much of this, but in polling trends should be watched

The key there is "trends'

As we all know, there will be another poll tomorrow, and another one the day after that, wait long enough, or work hard enough, and you will find one to support your opinion

With the election over two years away, polls today are pretty much strictly for conversation, two and half years is an eternity in politics. Plus, incumbents, until they have an actual defined opponent, generally look bad going into the election

"As speculation for 2020 begins to heat up, a little more than 3 in 10 Americans want to see President Donald Trump win a second term in the White House, according to a new poll. A Monmouth University poll out Wednesday found that though the president’s approval rating stands fairly steady at 43 percent, only 37 percent of registered voters want to see him reelected"

Who do you think they'll choose? (Dems)

(And yes, there's a decent/good chance neither of these people are their party's nominees)

Unless Biden declares he will not run, it will be Biden, and at this point, I would think Biden would want to run for reelection. The election is two and half years away, an eternity in politics, and Biden has been around long enough to know that regardless of what his numbers are now or the way others would portray him, it is all about "what have you done for me lately." If Trump runs, he definitely would stay in the race

Personally, I would like to see someone else, but the problem with Democrats, their party tent is too big, the moderate can't sell the progressives and vica versa, so they usually come up with limited candidates. Minus Biden, Buttigieg would be the leading candidate, or an outsider, like the Governor of Colorado

Possible. If Trump matched up to him, it would be a pretty ugly campaign for sure (though Trump will make any match-up pretty horrible).
trump will never get the Independents that he got in '16. Harris is going to make it ugly, as she tried in '16. She wouldn't accept the VP position with Buttigieg, so I'd be interested to see who he might pick? Buttigieg will make trump look like a moron in a debate, but the RNC already declared that there will be no debates. For obvious reasons.

I honestly don't see trump running again. He knows he might not even win the primary. If he did, the choice would be clear. A thief who loves the fact that the emoluments clause doesn't apply to POTUS, vs. an intelligent, well spoken Buttigieg who is reminiscent of Obama in his approach to complex issues.

I put zero stock in the poll but it wasn’t Biden vs a generic opponent it was Biden vs Trump.

Not that I care not what was the point of the 2018 poll?

Unless Trump suffers some major legal setback, he's running in 2024, he owns the GOP, today it is the cult of Trump, it is his party, he is in full control, so if he decides to run, he is the candidate

As sad as it is, the reality is that Buttigieg faces major hurdles because he is gay, and Harris because she is a women, so if not Biden, I don't know who would be the best Democrat candidate

Which at this point is just about generic, he, or anyone else, is the actual choice

The poll of 2018 shows the exact uselessness of this thread, that in 2018 Trump was in the exact same circumstances as Biden is today, little over thirty percent wanted him to be reelected

I still think trump is loving his current position. He holds the levers of the GOP, and is raking in countless millions in donations from those who cash in their Food Stamps.

He's loving the income that he could never earn under the now dead trump brand. He did steal hundreds of millions from the taxpayer while in office, as well as reaping bigger rewards from this nation's enemies as he promised policies that would benefit them over the nation.

I still don't see him as running, but we will indeed see. Biden is claiming that he's running, but as has been mentioned....'24 might as well be a decade away.

If the Dems are smart (debatable), they will run someone other than Joe or Hillary..(.he's too damned old and 'right of center', and she's too full of shit on all issues). That coupled with the "you ain't seen noth'in yet" lies and neo-fascist BS from Trump (if the GOP is stupid enough to nominate him again) should insure that this country won't endure a repeat of it's lowest of Presidential standards in history.

Will AOC be 35 for the next presidential elections?
I think she just misses.

That little broad might be America's last hope.
Otherwise, we'll likely descend into an even worse dystopia.

4 year old poll?? All I was saying is most polls in the last 6 months have Trump beating Biden = trending

No plans to stem the tide of inflation. No plan to lower fuel prices. Because a billionaire tax cut already proved to be detrimental to the economy.

They do not need one to win. Just let democrats do what they do best.....fuck themselves.

Just to clear the air....every election cycle the MSM has to keep the revenue flowing by sensationalizing everything. The "polls" are one way to do this, as they are ever shifting depending on who is being polled and how the questions are framed. There's a website that shows all the major pollsters and how they measure up regarding the question of the day....but damned if I can remember it.

Those who cash in their food stamps tend to vote Democrat. That is a fact.

(yes, it's a 2013 article)

"Democrats are about twice as likely as Republicans to have received food stamps at some point in their lives"

https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-ta...cs-and-demographics-of-food-stamp-recipients/

Do you have proof or a link saying Trump stole millions from taxpayers? I didn't think so...
